hyphy artists??? are cats like c-bo, yukmouth, mob figaz, san quinn, lil cyco hyphy. who was blacklisted? i know just about every major player and i know even more non major players and not one was blacklisted.

I KNOW BIG OSO LOC AND DAVINA BOTH FROM FREMONT WERE BLACKLISTED.

DAVINA WAS IN THE RACE FOR BEST FEMALE OR SOME SHIT AND WAS DELETED FROM THE LIST HALF WAY THRU. SHE WAS RIGHT BEHIND WHOEVER THE FUCK WAS IN FIRST PLACE. THAT WAS SOME GAY ASS SHIT.

I DUNNO IF THEYVE DONE IT TO OTHER ARTISTS BESIDES THIS BUT ALL IT TAKES IS ONE. THE BAY GETS HATED ON OUTSIDE OF THE BAY SO MUCH, ONLY TO HAVE THE BAY HATING ON THE BAY

Maybe next year the bars commitee will just give an award to every rapper who ever did a album or mixtape , or even touched a mic, so maybe next year they can give out 10,000 awards , like best left handed rapper, maybe even best rapper from each city , maybe even best 16 on paper written in pencil. But i do know bars is tryin to make it possible for an artist to step they game up to a new level and be reconized.

no offense to those artists, but i never heard of either of them. but then again, i've only been in the game since 1979, lol. i honestly feel that BARS has worked very hard to bring us a bay area event that we can all be very proud of so please support it

JUST CUZ YOU AINT HEARD OF THEM DONT MEAN THEY AINT MAKIN MOVES TOWARDS A HIGHER RECOGNITION. ITS JUST SAD THAT SOME DOORS WERE SHUT ON THEM BECAUSE OF THERE AFFILIATIONS.

it would be diffrent if they didnt nominate and then have people vote for them and then cut the legs out from under the artists after they started getting hella votes... it was as if they nominated the artists just to appeal to a certain crowd but then when that crowd started showing it had numbers and supported those artists that the people at top got spooked or something and decided to nix em and hope nobody noticed.. well.. they succesfully burned not only the artist but the fans of those artists too.. i wasted my time trying to support, not only the artists, but the awards because at the end of the day the folx at top said "fuck your vote" and decided to water down the show..

no hate, jus callin it like i see it.. hope it goes well.. jus know that its not reppin bay to the fullest...

if u mean "we" as in foolz who are into hyphy then yeah, u sure do got something to be proud of.. cuz this show was tailored for a whole lotta dread shaking and club boppin.. but its only a bay event cuz thats where its location is.. not because its showing love to the bay for what it is... but only for what the bandwagon allows..

thats my whole point. i figure if i never heard of them then most cats into bay music have not either. so to say they were blacklisted is not factual. i spoke to several cats at BARS who assured me that thats not the case. perhaps these artists will get their shot next year. i'm just curious to know if anyone might know how many units they pushed.

anyone will tell u that i aint feelin the whole hyphy movement. infact i have a roster of 15 rappers and not one of them does hyphy music. and last time i checked, c-bo, yuk, messy, the mob figaz, b-legit and too short aint on the hyphy bandwagon either, so i'm not sure why yall keep saying that this event is geered to the hyphy sound. i feel it represents all aspects of what the bay has to offer. to say that this is gonna be a hyphy show is as incorrect as u can be

oso ain from my hood... niether is davina.. but they are pretty well known in certain aspects.. and if they arent factors why were they making out pretty well vote wise? last i checked davina was ahead in the vote count...

Umm...Bay artists who get national attention should get all the awards. Isnt that kind of sel explanatory? Thats kind of like saying at the Grammy's that Big Rich wins the best rap album over a Jay-Z or Nas or someone of that calibur because Rich grinds harder and works harder. Shut up people. THere is no way that someone who is working really really hard and isnt known even in the bay should beat out people who are nationally known. There is just no basis for it.
