Steroids doesnt give you the ability to hit a ball.
Yeah, but if you already have the ability to hit a ball couldn't they make you much, much better?

If steroids don't help then no athlete would ever use them.

What did the media do to him before that?
c'mon man theyve been bashing him since the 90s

Did anyone see this weeks Real Sports? Bryant Gumble made some good points about legitimizing records. He was saying if we're gonna try to asterisk Bonds & McGwire's records then why dont we asterisk Babe Ruth and Ty Cobb for not facing blacks and latinos

Just because the media doesn't report positive stories about someone doesn't mean they're bashing them.

That arguement makes no sense. That's why Roger Maris had his asterisk taken off... Because the change in the number of games per season was made to help make the game what it is today... Blacks & Latinos were allowed to play because it was the right thing to do and it helped make the game what it is today... New pitches were learned to help make the game what it is today... The ball changed to help make the game what it is today... Outfield wall distances were changed to help make the game what it is today... Steroids are NOT something that baseball did to make the game what it is today.

You can't compare doing something illegal or something considered cheating with changes officially made in the game of baseball.

I'm not saying that Bonds or McGwire's records should be asterisked either, that's up to the MLB, I'm just saying what Gumbel is talking about makes no sense.

It could look at when Mcgwire hits a home run, thats when power comes into play, he hits pop-ups that have so much force behind them that give them distance.

Now look at Bonds 99% of the Homers that he hits have nothing to due with power. He has some of the quickest hands in baseball, that coupled with the ability to make perfect contact will hit balls out of the yard. Look at the way his shots leave the bat thats not from power, thats from quick hands

Bonds himself has described where the power comes from when he hits HR's and has said nothing about "quick hands" are you basing that on something or did you just make it up

thats me watching his swing. i played competetive baseball for years and went to several batting camps, i notice shit like that. Watch his swing homie, look at his hands, when he flips his wrists its over, alot of it is also due to his short swing. He keeps his hands in tight giving the bat more velocity Like i said some of the fastest hands in baseball.

he is guilty shmuck, he admitted that he took roids on the givemeafuckingbreak excuse that he didnt know they were roids.

as for everyone being an epxert on roids, it doesnt take a genius to figure shit out, when players gain 20-30 lbs of muscle and crank 50 out of the park when their carrer highs never went above 20+

and i dont buy the bullshit excuse that because there were no blacks back in the day that ruth and all those should have an asterisks...the negro leagues is league of legends amongst babseball purists, should the players who played in that leagues accomplishments be diminished becqause there were no whites playing with them...the first man to brerak maris- hr record was mcguire, and HELLO, mcguire is white, and even before mcguire broke the record, how long had blacks been playing baseball before the record was shattered by 2 steroid, performance enchancement using roided up jocks made it fashionable to hit hrs on juice?

You didnt play ball past JV did you?
It doesn't matter what I did Bonds himself has described in detail how he hits his home runs and "quick hands" had nothing to do with it.

In fact, the other day when Bonds had the press conference that started this post, he said that you "just use your hands to hit" and the drive and power is in his legs, and has always been in his legs.

nothing to do with it??? if you cant accept that the hands are a big factor in a swing then you have dont have enough credibility to even speak on the situation. lol your in over your head homie and your making yourself look like a fool.

Go read the article I posted on page 2. Bonds said the hands "just hit" and don't have a lot to do with it. He discounted the importance of what his hands have to do with his swing. Read it yourself. You're the one arguing what he said about his own swing, that sounds foolish to me.
