Is it me, or does anyone else feel like Bay Area rap fans are phony? Everyday I click on to the Siccness, I see another thread about how Bay Area music is dead. There are constant threads about how garbage the hyphy movement is, when the same ppl writing the threads were probably riding the hyphy movement's dick when it was hot. This bandwagon shit has got to stop. Why is the South on top? Is it because they're music is superior to ours? Fuk naw, in part, it's because their fans have stuck by them when the rest of the game was writing them off. Why can't Bay Area fans do the same? I hear so many Bay ppl using the excuse of good music. "I dont fuk wit Bay music rite now, the Bay is dead, I rather listen to good music than support garbage music." That shit makes me sick. Number one, I dont believe that our music is garbage, but that's another argument for another day. The fact of the matter is, you don't switch teams just because the one you're on is having a down year. Take for example sports, I'm from Oakland, so I'm a Raider fan. Period. The Raiders have been trash since 2001-2002, but I'm not going to become a Patriots fan, just because they play better football. I'm still going to support where I'm from. On the real Bay Area music heads can we support this BAY shyt? If u not gonna support it, than leave the "BAY is Dead" threads alone, because those aren't doing anything but digging us into a deeper whole.

it's not necessarily bandwagon shit. people were fans of hyphy before the "hyphy movement" started. hyphy was coo before and when it was "hot". it's garbage now because it's old and it's the same repetitive shit. "the bay is dead" threads pop up because of all these weak ass songs trying to replicate a sound from 6-7 years ago. times change and music changes. just let hyphy go. come up with something else.

just my opinion though...i know there are still people that love hyphy. at the end of the day, listen to the shit you like. if you don't like hyphy anymore, don't listen to it. if you do, great.

Bruh I'm not trying to hold on to hyphy, I just see the ppl disrespecting it now, are the same ppl who were going dumb two years ago. Now that hyphy is dead I hear niggas saying the Bay is dead. Hopping off the Bay and on to Lil Wayne. That's bandwagon bruh.

For some reason in the past week sicc has gotten very very bitchy, every topic fighting about Messy and bitching about the bays situation instead of going out of the way to find some good music. I personally I'm fine with the bay's situation, I'm listening to good bay shit and don't give a fuck what others think about my music. I ain't waiting on people to "blow up" anymore, I'm enjoying good music, fuck you (not you the topic creator but "you" the general bay rap fan) if you tired of all the rappers right now and can't take a min to listen to a new one then.

i don't know about "hopping off the bay and onto lil wayne." there's still HELLA bay artists that consistently put out quality music that the fans check for and respect (Quinn, Jacka, 40, Hus, Mess, etc...). but there's a larger group of artists that still try to ride hyphy shit and put out garbage ass songs time after time. imo there's nothing wrong with liking a new style of music and then not liking it once it gets old and repetitive.

I'm not talking about not "liking" something. I respect everybody's opinion. If u from Oakland, but you're not a Raiders fan than that's yo thing. But if u were a Raiders fan when they were good, and u dont fuk with them now, u a bandwagon nigga. I see too many bandwagon Bay fans who were supporting Bay music to the fullest a few years ago, but now that things have quieted down, are saying that the Bay is dead and they dont fuk wit it anymore.

but what im saying is that i dont think most people really mean the bay as a whole is dead...just that there's only a few artists actually consistently putting out quality music (which imo is true).

if you think the bay rap scene is better (or as good) now than it was 5 years ago, i disagree.

and i agree about bandwagon fans, but i just don't think what you're saying makes someone a bandwagon fan. take ya boy for instance. people liked him for a long time when he came out and was hot over the last few years. now a lot of his fans have stopped checking for him because they say they're tired of hearing him talk about how many guns he has and how many bitches he fucks (not to mention the nigga is never gonna put out another album). but that doesn't make them bandwagon fans...they're just tired of hearing the same shit. same with hyphy and artists that continue to put out hyphy music.

for real, thats what makes bay music take 10 steps back, then going forward.Cant have high expectations for every cd that is put out, if it is tight i will bump it, dont matter what other people think or what people out side the bay think.Bay music aint dead just unorganized .Theres good music being put out just not classics like when we were younger, so it makes us spoiled.

Just because our music aint as good as it once was, doesn't give we the fans the excuse to stop supporting what is coming out. I'm not saying everybody, but so many people on Siccness are completly disrespecting what the Bay has to offer, and they were the same ppl that were "die hard" fans a few years ago.

Never have liked Hyphy homie. I was never on the Mac Dre Bandwagon either cause I wasn't really feeling that kind of music from him. He had some cool songs when he was doing his thizz thing. Its Mobb Music for me.

To compare Mcdonalds and the Bay rap scene is like comparing apples & oranges. Bay Area rap is a living breathing entitiy. Micky D's is not.
