Currently, you don't need a passport to get into Canada, but yeah, it would help. There's always the U-District (university district--college people) but I haven't been there for awhile and I haven't been to many bars in Seattle since I moved.

You need your ID/DL and your birth certificate to get into Canada...

As far as hip-hop spots...it depends on which night youre trynna kick it...but Downtown is the place...every weekend its crazy down there....

And Seattle isnt a "rock city"....its actually a very trendy city...whatever the rest of the nation is doing...Seattle is doing it..which is pretty gay IMO...

Damn I keep hearing that I do/dont need my passport. I'm heated as fuck for keeping all my important documents in one box and losing that box somewhere in my old apartment.
You won't need your passport to get into Canada until at least 2007. The Canadian gov't--a branch at least, has been talking to the US gov't about not passing laws to make it mandatory to have a passport...because nobody will pay for a passport, just to get into Canada to eat dinner, go to a b-ball game, etc, so there may actually be a chance this won't happen, or that it'll just take awhile longer.

Thanks Sixx I was disappointed when I thought my venture into Canada might be compromised. But at the same time my Birth Certificate was one of the papers lost. All I have is my California DL at the moment.

I'll go to Portland too, but not for long, I'm gonna do the Windmer Hefeweizen brewery tour. Anyone been?

But Yeah were gettin hella shit planned for Seattle. I heard Vancouver BC is nice too...a few select cafe's/bars there you can smoke bud in apparently?

I can't remember correctly, but I think there's a brewery in Seattle too....Pyramid? I know I've been the the restaurant but I can't remember what else there is...

And as far as I know, which isn't much, you can't smoke in the shops up there. I haven't been there for that purpose, so I don't know, but some people I know got kicked out for smoking. I've wondered about that though cause I've wanted to go up there to smoke....I changed my destination from BC to Amsterdam though, it's just that BC is SO much fuckin' closer....

Good luck with your trip, hope you have a good time and enjoy the NW...

OK I'm back....

Portland is a cool place, but theres not much of a city feel to it. A lot of places were closed when i was there late nite. The Widmer tour was off the hook tho, i feel like a beer expert now haha.

Seattle is DOPE. I did almost everything I wanted to do there, I saw the Spaceneedle, Bruce Lee's Grave (dope view from the cemetary by the way), hit the bar, when to the chinese international district (one of my goals on this trip was to find a bomb ass boba-tea drink haha). All in all Seattle is a dope place, the only thing i wanted to do but didnt get to do was see the observation deck of that big ass black building downtown, apparently its closed on weekends. I enjoyed hanging out here and the weather was perfect.

ok heres the surprise...

VANCOUVER, BC. - Why has no one informed me about this place and the heaven that is Granville street? There was SO...SO....SO many bitches on that street ALL NIGHT and they were all proper as fuck. It wasnt like "damn look at that fine bitch", it was more like "damn look at those 10 fine bitches right there!". The only thing i could complain about was the fact that they dont sell booze at the convenience stores there but if you plan your night ahead in that city you're in for a ride. Theres hella grubb, numerous clubs and just a massive amount of skantily-clad hoes on the street...and i have a thing for asian girls and they were present by 10-fold. I'm returning to this city one day.

We got busted at customs on the way back for some stupid shit, we got harassed coming into canada and detained coming to the states but thats a different story.

I got off the bridge to granville and couldnt believe how crackin it was. the hotel we stayed in...Hotel Patricia was in the "worst part of vancouver" and it wasnt shit compared to other places in the US. Just a bunch of tweakers and bums minding their own business, it was a real trip...didnt feel in any danger being in their most notorious crack spot.

try going to Earl's!
i already been knowin since like 96 bout 'earls on top'. they changed they name to just earls i guess but that place is still crackin, on Robson street in downtown Van, i was just there last weekend for two nights, and yes Granville has been poppin, gotta fuck with the Absinthe when you go to canada but they cant get patron or some other liquor in the BC province for some reason. i try to stay on robson street or somewhere near like the blue horizon. i went cross the border on thursday and it was right after the elevated terror level and they grilled us pretty hard but no search
