ARTISTS.. How much do you usually spend on an album?

Im always writing. ALWAYS. I sit at my pc, do homework, dig thru pornsites, and write to whoever or whatever I can. Mixtape shit, "freestyles", whole songs, throw-away verses, the works. So it makes the song creatin process a lil easier for me. I can dig thru the files and see what fits or I can write from scratch.
If I get a beat that I feel needs immediate attention, I'll probly write from scratch. A lot of niccas like that shit cause I write nice shit in a short period of time. It's also a crutch. But I dont mind writing around a beat either, cause sometimes, you hook up with someone from online and they wanna hear your spices over they meat, so they shoot you bounced down tracks. I work with it.
I had writers block back in '98 and aint had it since.
*FYI, I started rappin in '99.
Some beats I have to write to, period. Some I can just lay down whatever on. But I find more comfort with a beat in my ear because I can present more emotion that way and really master that specific beat in a way. Writing bars is one thing, writing a song is completely different.
But yeah I probably spend about 30 minutes a day writing. And then probably about another 30-45 minutes just freestyling to instrumentals.

I spend about 85 seconds a day freestyling, and about 5 minutes a week writing. Nothing has really sparked my interest since the Smack DVD battles. Once i watched them, I realized how futile this shit really is.
Only way I'll start full-time again, if I hear a NorthWest rapper that I think can write better than me. And honestly.....I still ain't heard it yet.

Chino Xl (that's who I'm guessing you mean) is from East Orange, New Jersey...not the west coast at all...you are way off with that one. He couldn't touch either Jae or Mook in a battle anyways. Chino does have skills though.
Ras Kass is dope as fuck and is one of my favorite artists out. He can freestyle his ass off...but...there is no way in hell he would "chew up" either Murda Mook or Jae Millz in a battle. He would have a better chance then Chino XL...but it still wouldn't even be close.
He could easily keep up with them on a just plain freestyle tip though.

Both them dudes albums been pushed back more then once. They tight with them battles but mook hasn't droped one thing I liked. Millz singles all where garbage even his cuts on mixtapes was garbage. If you didnt know most battle rappers is what they is battle rappers. Nine times out of ten if you buy one of there albums its going to be garbage. Cassidy even has a hard time doing good numbers and he is a battle rapper that puts out okay albums.
The northwest has cats that can do way better then both then dudes. There no bigger then 151 and U.A. You look at things the wrong way fam you really do. The northwest is going to blow without having to battle all dame day. All I can say is I hope most of yall dont give up and stick wit it. Cause the time will come for the northwest to be on top and I promise that.
