First album, 500 press...produced, recorded, mixed, mastered, graphics done all in-house. Some costs were Disposable film (haha), FedEx costs, and of course, Pressing. Total of around $1000.
Needless to say, it wasn't the greatest quality, but the people didn't mind at the time. Its a shame no follow-up was made, my/our Engineer-Producer was really getting his skills up.

I understand that K, but there is quality shit out there for free (so-to-speak). I got a lot of freestyles in my sig, but I got some premixed original shit on my Myspace page.
Quality is usually what you pay for, but when you can gain the support of your peers, it makes things a helluva lot easier. If we not eatin RIGHT NOW, we can all get our fill down the road. Thats what I thought a MAJOR project was. Not just "hey, we needta make back wheat we put into this shit".
Extremely true.
For those that know me (Tadou) and don't feel me...trust me...no matter what you personally think, I've had people throw beats, studio time, and everything else at me--and I'm not alone. You may not get 100% quality, but then again, you could listen to a Bosko beat CD and not like all 25/25 beats on there.
The reality is that there is a lot of shitty rappers out there and just as many warped-minded producers. When the two hook up, they will feast on each other, the latter raping the other with high costs, and the former shitting on the other by no-showing, flaking on shows, and so on. That is not a relationship built on trust or admiration--it is built on pure business, and as such, will fall apart for any given reason, or for no reason at all.
Sniccrs and other artists will start to get their 30K when the regions top producers and engineers can stop being so rigid, and work with those artists that are Mixtape WARRIORS, stay OUT of trouble, DON'T drunk drive, are EXCELLENT performers, and so on. -- Giving away free shit all the time would, of course, be a mistake, but there are some people out there (Diggz Dime, Young Vicious, Big Will, On One, etc.) that you would have to be a crazy asshole to not be lowering your prices for.
