Damn now I know what yall mean when ya'll say I gotta eat lol. Shit ill spend whatever on an album, if I like it then it makes no difference what I spend on an album. I dont mind spending extra cash to help the artist out.

A couple albums that dropped on ESR cost in the $3800-$4500 range... studio time, beats, features, graphics, mixing/mastering, press... not to include promo, advertising, travel costs, etc..

::Edit::

After thinking about studio time and mastering I was a lil on the low side..

My upcoming album was a 4-5 G project... that is a main reason why it has taken me 3 years to get it out.
dont u feel that if u wait 3 yrs the elevation process takes place and u feel u could do 10 times better i stoppped one of my records because of that reason i worked on it in 2004 and the label in new mexico wanted to drop it this yr and i had to decline

Most definitely, and I think that it is a natural process. 3 years is a long time to be studying the game, finding your niche, finding out what sounds good and how to go about doing your business. I think I have grown alot as an artist over my hiatus and I am hoping that shows through in the album.

As for your situation, how hard was it for you to record your shit and then just decide not to use it at all? I don't think I could walk away, I wouldn't have the will power. I commend you for stepping back and looking at the picture as a whole though, that is tough to do sometimes.

One of the problems with making quality product:cost-efficiency. Im workin on my shit now and I tell you, when niccas believe in you and got faith it you, it cuts out a lot of the costs in your budget. I wouldnt know what things would run normally. At the same time, niccas limit themselves to PAYING for production when you can usually get beats for free if somebody wants to be a part of you coming up. I got a few niccas thats supportive of me and my sound. The fact that my goals are region oriented, I get a lot more love from dudes because if I shine, you shine. Dont get me wrong, I know this only occurs in an ideal world, but it DOES happen.
