Authorities on Saturday Morning conducted a second drug roundup in as many weeks, arresting six suspected drug dealers in various night clubs.
In addition, the roundup also netted six other suspects wanted on a variety of charges, including child support violations and narcotics charges from San Francisco and Alameda County.
Two teams of officers from the San Francisco County Sheriff's Office and police departments from Oakland, and the F.B.I. conducted the roundup, which started in the recording studio of a local Bay Area artist. San Francisco County Sheriff James Knight said in a written statement.
Authorities charge that Rapper Andrew "Dru- Down"Julius Rontrell Hinton, 39, of Oakland sold crack cocaine and the populer drug known as Thizz Pills to undercover Female officers there and then walked towards a vehicle resembling an ice cream truck. Hinton was arrested there, and officers reportedly saw him throw a bag with 4 grams of cocaine and "Thizz Pills" in it on the ground as they approached him.
When the Gangster rapper noticed that he'd been set up, he then began to run. As the officers gave chase, the rapper countinued to shout "The Bay is Back!!" repeatedly. Female officers wearing high heels caught up with the rapper about a block away and took him into custody. When lab results came back on the "Thizz Pills" he'd allegedly given the deputies, it turned out to be neither viagra nor methamphetamine but Flintstone Chewables.
The rapper was charged with 1 Felony of drug possession and another Felony of a Dry Perm. The Misdemeanors stemed from various wack appearances on many Bay Area rap CD's.
