Speaking of the Nuggets, their chances of landing Gilbert Arenas may have taken a hit. Insider reported Monday the Warriors were fliriting with picking Ndudi Ebi, a raw high school power forward, with the 11th pick.

We'll pause why you all say, "Huh?" Well, Skip Bayless of the San Jose Mercury News might have just filled in the blanks.

Ebi and Arenas are represented by the same agent, Dan Fegan. Could Fegan arrange to have Arenas sign for less in Golden State now if the Warriors promise to give Ebi some love at 11 and max-out Arenas in a new deal in two years?

It might not have to be 11, either. There's talk the Hawks and Warriors are talking about a swap that would send the No. 11 to the Hawks for the No. 21 and a future first-round pick. The Hawks would then select Louisville's Reece Gaines at 11, and the Warriors would take Ebi at 21.

Fegan has a history with the Warriors. He also represents Jason Richardson and Troy Murphy. But is he that powerful?

Arenas likely would be turning down at least $3 million a year over the next two years to re-sign with the Warriors rather than seek his fortune with the Nuggets. The most the Warriors can offer is the mid-level exception, which is supposed to start at around $4.9 million next year. The Nuggets likely would offer a deal starting at around $8 million a year. Because Arenas is a restricted free agent, to re-sign with his team it has to be at least a three-year deal with a player opt-out after year two.

That's a big risk. Injuries, a bad season or two and the possibility of the NBA finding out about the under the table agreement could come back to haunt Arenas and the Warriors. Just ask Joe Smith and the T-Wolves. And while Fegan and the Warriors would never be stupid enough to actually put something in writing, that could mean trouble down the road. Just ask Rashard Lewis, who felt the Sonics reneged on a max-out promise two seasons ago.

But the Warriors would be loathe to screw Fegan, considering he represents so many of their players. I'm not sure how realistic the scenario is, but it certainly makes sense at one level.

Damn, I hope Arenas stays, cuz seriously w/o him, the warriors wouldn't even be as close to a good record as they had last season. Arenas is the fuckin man. I wouldn't mind getting Ebi, he's a good player, he locked down LeBron James at the McDonalds all american game. I like troy murphy but he could be moved to the center spot. I can't stand Dampier and Jamison no more, those muthafuckas is inconsistent as fuck, I'm sick of those 2. And have the amazing Foyle back up Troy, if Troy can add a few more plbs that is. Troy ain't no punk as y'all saw him the past couple of seasons. We need a strong power forward and a shooting guard, richardson just ain't doin' it, eventhough I love tha guy but he's inconsistent as fuck too. Anyways I can go on and on, so I'm a end it here and just hope Arenas stays.

good shit cutthroat and what the fuck is up with the picks they made? I didn't get to see THe french dude, but I know he's a 6 foot 6 inches guard. Just in case Arenas leaves. And they picked another guard, Zimmerman? who the fuck is he? All I know is dude is only 6 foot 3 inches and avg 6.9 pts a game in all of his 4 year career at mississipi st. They could of picked Jason Gardner?? I think he's in the draft, isn't it his last year at college? Well, I'm sure there was hella better PG'z than Zimmerman. What about the guard for Florida Gators? that white dude, he's sick as fuck, Great finisher.

just found out the french dude is a black dude, he only avg in pts. per game at 8.8 in his pro. career in Europe. WEEEAAAK. And I just found out that zimmerman back in his senior yr. in high school averaged like 30 pts a game, 11 rbs a game, 6 assists a game and 5 blocks a game but didn't do shit in college.

The biggest mistake the Warriors made was signing Jamison to that huge contract trying to make him the franchise player...Gary St. Jean's stupid ass done fucked up hard right there.....If he didn't do that plenty of skrill would be on the table for Arenas. 707balla...i agree with u mane...i cant stand Jamison and especially Dampier's lazy ass....his ass shouldve been traded a long time ago

What was they thinkin signin' jamison to that huge contract. Ya know, I tried to like Jamison, I tried, but I CAN'T cuz he fuckin sucks dick. All he is good at is them ugly ass flipshots and he's not smart at all. He tries to dribble down the court himself sometimes and always end up w/ a t/o. He tries to shoot J'z everytime he touches the ball when he should be postin' up and backin the D down which he has a better percentage at and I think it's his bread n butta. But tha dude is stupid. You rarely see his ass dunk, fuckin weak, and always tryna shoot 3'z and a foot over the 3 pt. line, what a weak ass muthafucka. I really hope Arenas stays cuz he should be the real franchise player fo' real, look at last season, it was just his 2nd season and already takin over tha team and tha game. Personally, I don't think anyone can stop Arenas from going to tha hole, you see him shit on muthafuckas cuz he's a sav like that at only 6'3". I seen that cat in real life, he's a muthafuckin' great player no doubt about it.

Arenas Going To...?

It must suck for you Warrior fans... cause all i got to say is one thing bout Arenas.... N U G G E T S

Arenas' interest in the Nuggets grew when Denver drafted Anthony last week, according to Arenas' agent, Dan Fegan.

"I spoke to (Arenas) about Carmelo Anthony when they selected him. And of the players that were available in the draft, (Anthony's) the guy that he wanted to play with the most," Fegan said late Sunday. "He felt that Carmelo, by proving it in college, was ahead of the game of a high school player (LeBron James). He was very excited that Denver drafted Carmelo.

One potential hitch in an Arenas-Nuggets bond is the contract. Fegan has said his client should receive more than $7 million in the contract's first season.

And the Nuggets have been talking to 3 of LA Clippers stars about signing them... Odom, Maggete, and Olokwandi.. watch out for denver next season!

Including Maggette, who becomes a restricted free agent Tuesday. He said the Nuggets "definitely" are the top team on his list. And he said teammates Michael Olowokandi, who will become an unrestricted free agent, and Elton Brand, who will be restricted, also "would enjoy going to Denver."

One important topic of discussion will be how to handle going after restricted as opposed to unrestricted free agents. With Olowokandi being unrestricted, he is free to jump on any offer immediately. And although Golden State point guard Gilbert Arenas is restricted, he would be easier to sign than the typical restricted free agent.

"My first option is to look at Denver," Maggette said. "The main reason is because of Kiki. I respect him. I've gone to his summer camps (a few years ago in the Los Angeles area). They're trying to establish something as a team and an organization, and I'd love to be part of it."

Apparently, so would Brand and Olowokandi. Maggette said he regularly has talked to Brand about how they "would love to be teammates in Denver."

With that in mind, don't be surprised to see the Nuggets put in a call to Indiana forward Jermaine O'Neal, considered the second-best free agent available. And there will be plenty of calls to Arenas, named Most Improved Player after averaging 18.3 points and 6.3 assists.

Arenas' father, Gilbert Arenas Sr., told the Rocky Mountain News in April that his son "probably" would end up with the Nuggets. But it's not a slam dunk.

Go DENVER!
