For example, would you know that I am an active member of an international socialist organization who helps organize marches/rallies, study groups, protests, food/clothing drives, speak-outs, and various other activities in my neighborhood? Would you know that I write for a newspaper or that I discuss politics and various other topics with people several times a week during my free time?

Of course all you see in the GOM forum is "talk, talk, talk" because this is a message board dedicated to communicating by means of text, genius. We cannot enter the computer and protest the powers that be; no we can only do that offline.

With that being said, the internet IS a great tool to spread information and to express your opinions/views. Personally I have recieved several PM's by members thanking me on various threads I have created and saying that they never knew this or that or whatever.

And I know I have learned a lot from other members as well.
