Why would they do this? I know he got hurt but he is the reason they won the past couple of years. Noone is going to be afraid of Rivers, stack the line, stop LT, and there you go.

Man I really wanted the Charges to stay a competitive team too, they are so much more likeable than the Chefs and Faiders.

Oh well, maybe in 2-3 years after his learning curve. But in 3 years LT will be the dreaded 30 (no rb's the same after that), and Gates will be long gone not wanting to stick around when things go bad.

I think he ends up with SD.Brees already had an average arm at best, and then tore a labrum........kinda risky for a new team to offer much money.Letting him test the waters, and not getting any (big)offers, the chargers can probably save money by not franchising him.

even i can't understand what i wrote....lol,call me for clarification.

they should tag just in case he doesnt come back healthy so that dont have to compete with others teams for long term contact and not risk too much $. marthy is idiot for playing in last game. marthy might have ruin his career.

Quote of the day.

That's why he will never win the big one. He can take teams to where they need to be but stupid decisions don't get them over the hump.

Like I said I actually root for them to do good since they are an easy team to like (other than Marty).

But the problem is if they tag him they need to pay him top 10 salary...that's bank considering the deal both Manning's, big ben, and others are making. they would need t pay him bank to tag him. I think that is why they DON'T want to tag him. But they should come up with some sort of incentive deal to let him know they stand by him and thank him for what he has done...dide has been money the past 2 years.

I think the Chargers think it is more LT and Gates than Drew....they are in ofr a rude awakening this season if that's the case.

Brees durabilty is questionable now, and you got to look at it as a money issue in the long run, It might not be too bad with Phillip Rivers, I hear he has a good arm, but mobility is lacking.

I'd bet the Lions offer him pretty big money.. They are desparate for any type of QB.. Even though O-Line is a more pressing issue...

id hate to see brees go, but the fact is that he is damaged goods right now. nobody knows what they would get out of him at this point, he may be better or maybe worse. His arm was never strong to begin with.......the other problem is that rivers is getting paid a ton of money to sit on the bench. the bolts would take a huge salary cap hit if the traded rivers. So the best thing to do is to force brees to take a contract with ungarunteed money and have him duke it out with rivers in training camp....at this point he is going to have to prove himself all over again. and if brees doesnt want to take that contract, my guess is that he ends up in miami, rivers becomes the starter-sounds shitty but oh well thats business. also the chargers redid aj feeleys contract a couple weeks ago, meaning that they have had him pinned as the back up for sometime now, who he is backing up is the ?

^BUT DOES AL DAVIS SEE THAT?
He should considering Walter was his favorite QB in last years draft. Not sure if he will start next year cuz Al Davis doesn't like startin young QB's but he needs to change his ways cuz theres no point in drafting a couple QB's in the the first 3 rounds the past few years if they aint even gonna see the field.
I think Brees would fit in nicely but we gotta get some help on the offensive line before anything or it wont matter who the QB is..
Im still not sold on Young either..

if brees dont stay in san diego, he'll be going to miami.......the dolphins wanted to draft brees but the bolts beat them to it. saban has said he wants brees and the dolphins o line coach (hudson houck) coached brees in san diego the year they went to the playoffs...i believe the dolphins would make a strong push for him
