What do you really know about where I live? You know I live in the 209 area because it says right by my name. But what else do you know? Come on with that typical approach.. tell me you can see things because of how I post, because you have nothing but assumtions.

Ignorance, slavery was born in the Mideast and Africa, along with the beginning of civilization.
Mesopotamia? the Cradle of Civilization, the first organized cities (Babylon) were built with slaves. The pyramids in Egypt? Built with slaves. And what were white people doing at this time period? They were still living in caves.

Civilization started in the Nile valley, "Mesopotamia" was not the name of some unified kingdom, it was a region of villages and cities. Secondly, slaves did not build the pyramids, cite one updated Egyptologist who agrees with this unsubstantiated, debunked claim. Where'd they come from? No one in the ancient world practiced dehumanization based on racial hierarchy, and slaves were not a source of income but more of a convenience as prisoners of war.. Get your facts straight first of all before you type anything..

This has always been arguable, but I would hold that most historians, archaeologists put the first organized civilization between the Tigris and Euphrates. The theory that the Nile Valley had civilization first is fairly new and all arguable as archaeologists struggle to pinpoint the time periods.

The only reason Lehner theorizes the pyramids were not built by slaves is because of his discovery of a cemetery for the workers (who would have had to been privileged to be buried in a cemetery), however this could only account for a portion of the workers required.
He himself says his is a theory with not many answers, for example the workers did not have homes (which seems to imply that they were indeed slaves).

The great pyramid especially was commissioned under Khufu over a 20 year period, and workers were buried in elaborate grave sites with in miles of the Giza Plateau. This courtesy indeed would not of been reserved for prisoners, Lehner was right on that.
