regardless of Mel Gibsons views on certain people an other things he makes good movies an this was one the best.
That lil girl was hella scarey , an the past does repeat itself u see them sporting them grills?
Only thing I wanna know is an i know its a movie but they said FUCK a few times an other words, are those words even that old?
But damn if it did not look hella real with everything. The people,the set just everything in general,cant wait for the dvd an special features.
The look on those dude faces when they seen the ships was crazy too, but reading this thread b4 seeing it i knew it was coming.
I would like to see a movie like this next on aztecs or tarascan indians which these people arent really thought of or brought up in history yet if you read history they defeated the aztecs in every battle an the war between them is one the main reasons the aztecs an their empire fell to the spanish.

i saw it opening weekend, got zooted to it, and this shit was no joke. there was so much violence, i was just glad it was over. THERE IS ALOT OF HISTORICAL INACCURACIES IN APOCALYPTO but yes i was entertained (and shocked at the blood and violence). the underlying message at least to the viewers is to have no fear of opressors.

the first hollywood movie about the mayans or aztecs should not have been one where they are fighting each other BUT i hope this movie inspires more to be created and in the right way.

i liked the focus on themes like abolition of fear and family values
also, i like how their culture means what they say, and sometimes dont have to say anything at all. there is so much more integrity/intention in the messages they try to convey to each other, what they say, they mean. i dont know its deeper than just that but i think its tight. i wonder if our ever expanding vocabularies are more efficient, when sometimes we say thousands of words but our message could be given in like 3.
