jujitsu is some sick shit,i would definetly resort to it if i ended up on the ground, and truthfully alot of fights do end up on the ground, but im more into classical arts, styles that would dominate your average street style.i aint doggin on jujitsu,i love it,when i spar with my wrestling friend its hillarious,he allways gets me pinned on my back(which in wrestling is the wining move)and i allways have him in a sissor lock, which is way more effective, because when were both waiting for the other one to give up,he runs out of breath cause he cant flex the whole time my legs are trying to split him in half, and this guys 20 pounds heavier then me with pure muscle.Like someone said way earlier in this thread, one of the biggest things about martial arts is if you can not use your force, even if you have to look like a pussy and walk away, its allways better, but if you do have to use your force, you better pray that you dont kill that fucker in a mila second(if your skilled enough)i guess when your really confident in your self, you can easily walk away from a confrontations that are avoidable.

A funny question my sensai asked all of us-if someone had a knife pointed at your spinal cord while having you in a choke hold from the back demanding for your wallet what would you do.a bunch of people started thinkin of specific techniques and my sensai would jus cut them off and say no,when he came to me i giggled and said i would give it to him.He looked me straight in the eyes and said your absolutly correct,i neeeeeeeeeever thought id here that,i jus couldnt think of a decent technique to get out of that situation. All the contents of your wallet arent worth a fraction of your life.Being a Martial artist is about understanding your surroundings to the fullest, only a small part of it has to do with fighting. Its all philosophies baby

Brown belt in Kajukenbo. Stopped a few years ago. I can break noses, necks, and arms in a few short strokes. Funny martial art, very little of it is performance or art, and most of it is lethal or maiming techniques.

Kung Fu/Jeet Koon Do (when I was very young like 8-10), my instructor was trained by Bruce Lee (R.I.P. Guy Kurose)

I don't remember too much...

I'd really like to get into Krav Maga, who know's though

I want to begin studying Tai Chi. For a person who has never studied martial arts, how would you describe its diffulculty level of learning? Is it a good first choice? I want to learn more for the stress releaving factor of the art, but just for shits and giggles ... how effective is the combative aspects of the art form and what are its major focuses when it comes to fighting?
