anyone know how the d-league works?

i've been thinking about this ever since cj watson got called up.

when a team calls someone up do they have to call up someone from their d-league affiliate? cause cj watson played for the vipers which is the affiliate of the cavs, rockets and hornets. and the bakersfield jam is the affiliate of the warriors. so can they call up anybody from any team?

^yes each team either has their own d-league affiliate or shares one with multiple teams... example... Portland and Seattle are affiliated with the Idaho team, while If i remember correctly, the lakers have their own affiliated and don't share it with any team... It's different with each team

Yeah, Lakers have they own shit - not like these rooty pooh teams.

And the way it works is - if you don't have what it takes to win in the NBA but you're better than And 1 and the Globe Trotters - you go to D-League.

the way it works is every team has an affiliate...they can send players down to only there affiliate but can sign any player in the league not under NBA contract....

there is always pros and cons with anything, d-league included. playing games even if it's not with the best comp, could be more beneficial to a player, than just practicing with their NBA team. it seems like if you light up the D-league, you have a shot at the NBA.
