They are strict as shit about letting people in with any kind of convictions, even if they are minor. My girl hadn't even gone to court yet about some petty shit, and they took aside and spent 30 mins researching here and questioning her. They let her through, but told her depending on the outcome, she may not be allowed in.

The first part of 2009 in Vancouver was crazy as fuck. There was a drug related murder every other day it seemed. The drug trade is directly affected by Mexico, so when all that shit went down with the cartels, it rippled to Canada. Not to mention, there was a huge round up of Hells Angels in 2008 that caused other organizations to "get a piece of the drug pie", which caused major conflicts.
