My brother goes to Santa clara law and shits hard... Me personally I will be taking mcat. A ba isn't enough now days u need to go graduate school and beyond to get breaded the time spend in school will payoff. U don't need to be a genius just a hard work ethic
if he plays his cards right, he could be making a 500K income in 10 years.

I'm kinda stuck in community college limbo, I've been going part time for a year and a half. Its tough working a commission based job and going to school at the same time trying to flip grown mans bills and shit.

I just don't wanna go through the headache of getting a degree only to be working at the same place i'm at now. At least half of the people i work with at the collection house have 4 year degrees and I'm just as good if not better than alot of them. Theres people at the place that make real good money and probably never went to any college at all. The best guy there is like a year away from an MBA, lord know why hes been there for so long. I guess cuz he pulls +100k months in gross collections meaning 8000-10000 paychecks depending on the paper hes working.

I'm hoping and praying i get this job i applied to so i can go to school full time but I still don't know what I wanna get a degree in. I already learned that it is absolutly worthless to go to school for anything artistic, got a degree from an audio enginerring school that doesn't mean dick and ain't even transferable.

The country is hella oversaturated with attorneys, I have plenty of those guys i have to call about huge credit card debts all the fuckin time. Everyone in their mom seems to have a business or communications degree. Don't wanna admit it but I don't think i have the drive to try to become a doctor or anything medical related, I'm kinda stumped.

I have a friend whos graduating SJSU with a chemical engineering degree, thats major paper right there but again not really my thing and the math would kill me.

Life is full of tough decisions i guess, I was thinking of getting an AA in Legal Studies just so I can get a nice paying job and continue with my education. Not sure how many of those credits would be transferable though. I see it like this.. I'm turning 30 in october i don't wanna be going to school forever to get an entry level job. I'm a councilers worst nightmare i swear lol

you should become a stock broker or something in the financial field. The entire job revolves around making as much money as possible

College isn't for everybody but I hate when people try to act like you won't ever use anything you learned in school. Maybe for some professions you won't but I have almost all of my books from school sitting at my desk at work and I use them all the time. And my degree was worth every penny.

yeah i wasnt trying to come off that way in my post. college most definitely isnt for everyone. and plenty of people there do waste their time learning crap that they will never use. but someone saying shit about all people that go to college but has never gone himself, makes no sense.

what you put into education is directly correlated to what you get out of it.

I think the problem with college is that people try to go into practical majors and then they don't have the motivation to finish, or they don't use it when they graduate. You should find something you love, no matter how impractical, and you will be good at it.

I started out college in information sciences and computer engineering because I thought it would be a lucrative market, and it was boring as shit. Then I realized I liked to think about people and do lots of drugs. So I majored in psych and neuroscience. I found it fascinating, and I did well in it. My best advice if u aren't motivated is to find something you love and just go with it.

I think the only shit I've learned in college that I won't use in the real world is those complex math equations involving more letters than numbers, LMAO! When it comes down to finances, making money, dealing with real world numbers I'm all good. But when it comes down to 4-x over x-6x+12 + x-2 over 3x-14 divided by 18x-2x+14-3, I HATE MY LIFE! lol.

this is simple algebra. nothing complex about that. college teaches you discipline and responsibility. if you dont use your education, it's yours, not the educations fault.

dont let people tell you what it will and wont do for you. make it happen. good luck.

I got a B.A but it dont really mean shit nowadays........its like having a high school diploma......besides more than half the people do shit that is not related to what they studied. If you really want to get ahead get your masters or pick up a trade or get a BS in engineering, computer science etc.....
AA's are the equivalent to a HS diploma...at least a BA holds some kind of weight.

nursing is where the money is. RN. my aunt retires this year making 120,000 a year. she will get that as well in retirement or real close to it i should say. but doing something you like will be more satisfying. you got it right either way.
