I'VE SEEN AND READ SO MANY NEGATIVE , RUMOR BASED , COUNTER-BAY-PRODUCTIVE POSTS IN THE PAST FEW MONTHS I HOPE THIS MAKES A DIFFERRENCE :
A few months back , It was brought to my attention that 106.1 kmel had moved there time slot for " on the block" to my time slot shortly after i won my east bay express award for bay area hip hop radio, by some of the bay area hip hop artists that i support @ my show , THE FRIDAY NITE VIBE (12mid-2am fri) here @ kpfa 94.1fm.
I then went on to this message board to see the climate and impact of this move , and when i saw that it was getting such broad attention from some of you i saw that as a direct slap in the face to the FANS , ARTISTS , and COMMUNTTY that has helped me become so successful, let alone a slap in the face to my-self from kmel due to the fact that they have always been notorious throught time in bay area hip hop history , on a industry level , for ignoring/denying the indi-radio scene here , but once we make noise on a platform that might pose a threat to there order of buisness (un-intentional or not)
they steal our concepts to "block" any further progress on a level they find threatening to they're own.
I then decided to "land on this planet" so to speak , and introduced myself and addressed the situation on this board with what i'm known for , and what i encourage out of all my artists , which is truth , intergrity , and a healthy amount of humor , which some of you know is the catalyst for being a leader in some forums of the game.
Scotty Fox then replied and to my suprise , denyed this accusation and told me how he was all for the bay , and saluted me for my success.
i once again responed with more witt and fact to my truths and at the end of the day , Scotty stood by his truth , I stood by mine , and that was that.
Recently , out of respect for what i am doing for Bay area hip hop , I was invited to speak on the behalf of bay area hip hop radio alongside my other panelists @ the B.A.R.S. summit and once i concluded , i was greeted by so many people with the same love and respect i have for them , and one of those people was none other than Scotty Fox.
A few minutes Later , we sat in private and i broke down what i am breaking down for all of you now , and once again he broke down his side of the story as well. we shook hands and decided that we would co-exisist out of respect for each other and the love we both have for bay area hip hop , given the fact we play for two different teams.
So with that being said I'd told myself when my schedule winds down i would go back on this board and publicly put closure on this matter , but with all the negativity on here being posted nowdays i felt that the time is now.
