It seems that most of you guys are missing the fine point of the effect of "The Ghetto Report Card".

I don't think that 40 is really trippin about the sales. He's already a MADE dude, BEEN a MADE dude and his pockets have always been swollen'. What the "Ghetto Report Card" has done is:

1. Got him on BET "Rap City"
2. BET "106 & Park"
3. MTV "Punk'd"
4. MTV "(Whatever there fuckin HipHop program is)" ....(been away from the bay for a bit!)
5. Got him on the Jamie Kennedy Show
6. Got him on national radio play.
7. Brought him to International Status (40 slappin' up here in the Tokyo clubs)
8. Put the Bay on the Map...... once again.
9. Open doors for Keak, Turf, Ya Boy, The Team for future BIG CONTRACTS w/ labels.
10. Helped put the spotlight on San Quinn (Now OFFICIALLY in AND1 Vid.eo Game)

........................................and the list goes on. Sales is just Sales. 40 doing just fine.

I think the video is dropping next week on bet and mtv. It's already premiered on yahoo, and i think they are just timing it, not for sales, but for it to be a summer hit. Im sure it'll do fine throughout the summer, it's one of the best club songs out right now, so im sure they are just trying to time it.

U and Dat will give him a GOLD plaque. Muscle Cars, They Might Be Tapin', Go Harder Go Home, etc. will push him to platinum status and eventually, he'll get his 2nd Win. I just don't know how long it's gonna take. I mean, U and Dat has been getting spins already on radios all across the nation, and Warner Bros still haven't aired the video. I'm pretty sure if 40 could have it his way, he would've been shooting for his 4th video already. I also think that Warner Bros are a little worried knowing that 40 hasn't reached gold status yet. Things like this can result in those big corporate CEO's just not giving a fuck anymore! They might of given up already. I dont' know. But I wouldn't be suprised not to see the U and Dat video on BET or MTV. They might slip the video in, but they won't push as hard to get it recognized. That's why it's up to cats like us to vote hella times and shit of that nature. Most of the music videos on voted countdowns are all payed for. I guess that's just my conspiracy, but who really knows. All I know is that 40 is playing his part in major way. He's really living up to his self-given name as the Ambassador of The Bay.

True, but I'm sure 40 is disapointed with his sales. His lack if sales with all of this promotion could back fire on the "hyphy movement". Its rare that an artist gets this kind of support from a label and normally when hey do their numbers are way better. But I too am happy to be standing in hyphy's 15 minutes of shine.

15 minutes of shine? Do you really feel that way? This will be truly sad if Hyphy just evapoates nationally that quick. The Bay will never be looked at in a good light or taken seriously, 40 took a big gamble by putting the Bay on his back alone, when he's not exactly a popular rapper. This would ruin so many people's self esteem and sense of pride. Imagine how bitter Bay niggas would be then.

You need hits to keep trends going. No hits = Bye Bye Trend ... You have to wonder where the next hit is going to come from because no one else has any major backing other than 40. It's up to one of these (currently) indie cats to break through with somethin. Maybe Quinn, Bailey, F.A.B or Keak

Man if yall think E-40 sales is good for the bay yall got low standards and the bay is not about low standards, E-40 is every where on T.V doing hella shows and shit and he got 4mics in the source and a hip hop quotable, he should be doing platum stats now and its not happening the cd is good but in the industry eyes the shit is a flop..

For real, not to mention it's not like the nigga is new to this game. He should have put out something along the lines of "in a major way"! I'm from the bay and I think the shit (Ghetto report card) is weak as fuck. He tryed to copy Lil John's Crunk music with the HYphie bullshit but all he did was attract a few thousand pill poppers. The videos look low budget compared to the real shit thats out there. Why would a few hundred thousand be good to E-40 when that would be considered a complete failure to cats like Nelly & P. Diddy?

Now days mutha fuckas only bump a CD for about a month and then it's over, move on to the next. So 40 don't got time to wait until the summer because his shit aint NEW no more already. It's hella other shit coming out for the summer and his shit could easily get lost in the shuffle. I would have tryed to pull a Pac and put something else out quick as hell to keep all eyes on me if I was 40.

What's old to us might be new to somebody else though. That's why some albums continue to sell consistently for a year or two. A lot of people only know songs and don't know artists by name. So someone may not have liked Tell Me When To Go and didn't take the time to figure out who's song it was. That's why you have a song like U and Dat for the individuals who may have slept on 40 because they didn't feel the first single.

hey mayne, 40 is a millionaire last time I checked. he should have a top of the line studio and have the best enginers (Big Bass Brian) cleanin up the album. if he doesent then that's his bad. I know I'm spendin my money on studio equipment, right after I get a house and right before I get a car That's not the reason for lacluster sales. The album must not be that good. The general public is speaking on that by not getting it.

well that shit that goes platinum, jay-z, nas, ludacris, etc. have million dollar studios, producers, masters and mixers, high quality microphones, and unlimited resources, so the sound quality on their cds alone are good music, and if the rapper can make a catchy hook and half ass raps it will sound better then anything coming out the bay lately.

You know why 40 aint selling? Hoes dont like his looks. You know how many dumb hoes want to fuck T.I? Millions. Most records sales are from women. If you dont appeal to hoes you will not do well. T.I. makes alot of songs for women. He has a huge following.
