no fuckin way, hes ok. his lyrics are ok, just because he says wierd shit doesnt mean its hot. his rhymes arent complex at all, complexity can be way sicker than that, for example, Big Pun Eats that man alive. No Big Pun Intended.
yeah pun had tha aww factor, like how eminem puts his lyrics 2gether

Hop in your Hummer, the Punisher's ready; meet me at Veatles'
with Noodles, we'll do this dude while he's slurpin spaghetti
Everybody kiss the fuckin floor, Joey Crack, buck em all
If they move, Noodles shoot that fuckin whore
Dead in the middle of Little Italy little did we know
that we riddled some middleman who didn't do diddily

and......
I rub your face off the Earth and curse your family children
like Amityville drill the nerves in your cavity fillin
Insanity's building up pavillion in my civilian
The cannon be the anarchy that humanity's dealing
A villain without remorse, who's willing to out your boss
Forever and take all the cheddar like child support

whoever said he's not complex ain't listening to him....this foo is so clever with his rhymes I still pick things up from him that I haven't noticed on shit like the ATLiens album. I know I'm biased because he's my favorite artist. not favorite rapper from the south, not favorite rapper, but my favorite artist period. yeah, his excursion into singing was a little odd, and I didn't dig it at first, but it grew on me. together with big boi (who is also a dope writer and does not get the credit he deserves) they are the most consistent artists in Hip Hop, they have never released ANYTHING that did not go at least platinum

and pun was a savage on the mic, don't get me wrong, but they're two completely different breeds of MC. pun put ALOT into his wordplay, he was a sav when it came to shit like that, but Andre gives you easy to digest complexity. shit that will just fly by you if you're not paying attention. I'm not mad at the comparison tho, at least you're putting someone who should (or would be if he hadn't died) be heralded as one of the all time greats against him.

A lot of cats are not on Andre's level. Every verse he spit he shits on big boy. Look at the Aqemni album. He was dope. He's not even considered a rapper anymore. He's an official artist literaly. Designed and drew all of Outkast album covers. Yeah Mc Hammer had a cartoon but Andre has total control since he drew all characters.

Andre = Shakespeare; Big L, Pun, Em = Dr. Suess. Dr. Suess... great, Shakespeare...great. But two different approaches to writing, poetry, stories, literature.

Man if ur judgin Andre on some shit from 2004 and on ur trippin. He got bored w/ regular delivery and beats and switched it up. Its a hit or miss in terms of its popularity when compared to mainstream sound BUT - Dre has cemeted his legacy w/ everything outkast rapped about in the mid/late 90s. almost EVERY track has a clear focus and message delivered super clean. Im sorry if ur a late comer to him but if u followed him from the days of when Outkast Southerplanyer... dropped and they had square ass Franzen on KMEL (when he was still in HS) sayin Hooty Hoooooooooooooooo u know the legacy of these cats, especially Dre!

exactly....and the thing is Big Boi is actually a pretty dope MC himself, its just that Andre is so raw that he overshadows Big Boi.....kinda like Tash & J-ro from the Alkaholiks, J-Ro is definitely not wack, but Tash is so tight that you kinda just forget about him.

ok well as of lately i think dude is a gay baby and an aight actor DEFINITELY A CARTOON as nigga, but he has spit some good verses and he's managed to music that appeals to mass media without jackin somebody else's style to much props whether the shit sounded fruity or not at least he was original and highly creative. and his on walk it out had some real talk in it. nigga do sound like madea tho
