this was taken from the espn insider rumor mill:
Jan. 30 - QB Jeff Garcia has had a difficult time adapting to the Browns offensive system, saying it's not suited for his skills (i.e. -- the West Coast offense). The team won't discuss Garcia's future until a new coach is hired, but if it's current Patriots defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel, don't expect the offense to change to Garcia's liking.
"He wants to do what the Patriots do. He wants to run the ball, and try to make big plays, have a physical offense," a team executive told The Plain Dealer.
That could mean that Garcia, who turns 35 on Feb. 24 and is due a $4 million base salary in 2005, gets released. Garcia indicated he'd welcome a return to San Francisco.
"If (the Browns) decide to toss me aside, maybe I'll come ask (new) coach (Mike) Nolan if there's a position for me here," Garcia said in the San Jose Mercury News. "Hell, I'll even play special teams."
I have to admit that I was happy to see garcia go last season, but I actually wouldnt mind seeing him come back. I dont like rattay at all and dorsey showed us nothing last year. The only other starter that would be on the market, that i'd take over garcia is Brees and he'll probably cost too much. I know it seems ridiculous, but he would be better then what we have.
