quinn is one of the hardest,i personally feel that "i give you my word" was one of the best damn cds that has came out in a while, very well rounded and consisted of quality lyrics and structure. the rock had the same effect to it -it is a good album aswell,me personally i would go with i give oyu my word mainly because of the subect matters that he put on there,he spoke on real problems about fathers not bein there for their kids and how they should be there,he talked about love and hate, i mean he is the truth and he would run circles around any rapper out here,he is truly the king of the golden state, and i will always support him and his record company.

i have met alot of rappers in the bay and i have never met an artist that is good hearted and down to earth like quinn,he has this damn rick james aura about him haha i dont even kno mayne,he brings a good vibe and atmosphere, the rest of these rappers i dont kno man, alot of them are ass holes/jerks i swear, many cats i dont even like i just do business with them and keep it as that, but quinn yea he is a real solid dude,u must respect the man, he said he had plenty of deals on the table but keepin it real to his fans and street he chosed to stay and do his thang out here.

yal tryin to disect this man,but first yal must realize that there are two diff worlds when you are dealing with this type of music, Rap & Hip Hop are 2 diff worlds, brings about 2 diff lifestyles/crowds/atmospheres/and people. quinn can go completly hip hop if he wanted to,i heard plenty of songs that shows that potential, im talkin tracks like black eye peas or heiroglyphic type shit,he is very versatyle. i think its hard being a rapper, imagine being the dopest rapper like quinn is,i couldnt imagine the amount of pressure he prolly has on him.

yal rushing judgement to soon, if he release a full album that consisted of hyphy / crunk club tracks yal would be all ova his ball sack . i think they are just trying to appeal to the masses and just give the best of both worlds aswell as keeping albums well rounded so that it doesnt only appeal to a certain type of crowd, doin that - thats how you get famous/ worldwide with yo shit.

I read the whole thing (which took about 30 seconds) and I agree. San Quinn is past his prime and will never be signed to a major deal. I Give You My Word is definitely NOT the best cd of the decade, thats ridiculous. The Jack Artist Shits on it, theres also this guy in New York, Cormega...plus many others. Other than that I agree with you.

I don't think that time or opportunity can pass one by unless he isn't able to effectively maintain relevance. I honestly can't pinpoint one reason why Quinn has not garnered the same critical accliam as a lot of the new jack cats. I have no idea why people are overly sensative to criticism of Quinn. It would appear that fur the duration of his career he has not progressed musically and economically. If you look at Sky Balla for example he truly appears to be doing what it takes to be successful in terms of networking. On MTV Quinn was coined the star of our hood but you never hear of him being recognized on a national level. Quinn is not the nicest cat on the mic but I do appreciate the pride that he has for the San Francisco Bay Area. However the truth of the matter is no one on this forum can speak accuratley on Quinn. What is important is that he has held us down.

to quinn's defense:

lol "he's not under the major's radar"... anyone getting good spins independently and selling over 15k indi is under their radar!

if u do a survey i'm sure most people will say that "the rock" was actually his best album. i know everybody has their own opinions but sometimes u aren't in the majority. thats who we cater to: the masses!

i think quinn is probably the only big name rapper out here that has not been to meet with the majors since the movement jumped off. that doesn't mean that we haven't been in contact with these labels.. there's a strategy to this shit. if u think quinn cant go to ny and get a deal right now u r crazy!! when u sign to a major theres a lot that goes into it. its not as simple as u think. they've seen everybody out here live n direct and the only people that got ARTIST deals are federation, j. valentine, and clyde... not saying anything against the dist. deals that people got cuz thats big too.

say what u want but im just gonna keep staying quiet over here.... the production alone on this album is gonna shock people. too much good/crazy shit happening right now with us.... so go back to talking about ghostriding and hyphy references.
kenny -
i'm just a fan; i dont know the industry, but please shed some light on this then: how is he under their radar if apparently you and your team have been in contact with the labels? because he sold 15k on his last album? this isnt his first album, or his first appearance. i'm confused. :dead:

you keeping quiet doesnt bring clarification to the table. shit i'd rather hear it from the done deal camp than anyone else.
