wow.. you guys are actually bitching about having to give up a guy thats never played an nba game in his life for a five time allstar???? yeeeeah, what the fuck were GS thinking?? Maybe a Ronny Turiaf for Amare Stoudemire straight up trade would have been a lot more fair.

I'm just saying that's an extra player we'd have to give up... a player who has a lot of potential to be very good in the NBA

if we were just talking about giving up Curry straight up for Amare of course I would wanna do it in a heart beat

you crack me up proping a guy who would rather have a 10 & 13 guy who shoots 9% from the free throw line than a 25 &10 guy...
SMH..its cats like YOU that crack me up

got this from another forum...this guy sums up exactly how I feel pretty well.

Put me in the camp that says it isn't as simple as "Amare is better than Biedrins." That is true. But I think making that swap straight up makes us better in areas where we're already strong, and weaker in areas where we already need help. We could get the better player but not make the team much better. But we aren't talking about them straight up. When the internet rumor mill ramps up and has us including Wright, Marco, Curry, Azubuike, Jim Barnett, Jessica Alba, Kandy the ex-Warrior girl, etc. etc., then clearly that starts to matter. If the deal otherwise made sense, I don't hold it up over losing Marco or Kelenna, because I think in the end they are very replaceable. I'd be open to trading Curry, but note that he has real value as we sit here today. I'd be open to trading Wright, but the rumored deal leaves us with a big man rotation of Amare, Turiaf, Randolph, and... Jermareo Davidson. That is an issue. Trade all of them at once, and you've butchered your depth. You also traded a bunch of cheap guys for one very expensive guy, making it more difficult to add any depth you can stand to put on the court. And for the icing on the cake, if Amare walks in 2010, you have a total mess.

I love Biedrins, but I'm open to the idea of trading him for Amare. The adage is that an NBA team really needs to have 3 stars, and I think in a year or two you could legitimately say the Warriors had that with Monta, Randolph, and Amare. Something like Biedrins, Marco, and Kelenna for Amare would be scary but I couldn't argue with it. But keep adding in people, or add in more valuable people, or add in another big man, and it starts to make me squirm.

Phoenix can have Brandon Wright, the W's better not give away Bellinelli
Bellinelli needs to go....Why should we not give him up....What has he done, besides gain weight and get injured....?

I dont want Amare for Biedriens.....NO.......I agree Wright needs to be traded.....Bellinellie needs to go....Magette......We have way to many players that are around the same size.....A bunch of 6'7's and under......We need to make some moves but they gotta be good....

W's aint dumb, they know Amare has to sign a long-term deal. I would rather not give up Biendris but if so the W's should only give 1 more player in the trade.

The Arizona Republic is reporting that the Suns and Warriors agreed on a pre-draft deal in principle that would have sent Amare Stoudemire to GSW for Andris Biedrins, Brandan Wright, Marco Belinelli and No. 7 pick Stephen Curry.
The Suns believed the Warriors were drafting Curry for them, although the deal couldn't be finalized until July 8 because of Biedrins' contract. Amare's contract extension also still needs to be finalized with the Warriors. But Golden State is now acting as if they always planned on drafting Curry for themselves and may be backing out of the non-binding agreement. The trade could still happen, but the ball is in the Warriors' court and it feels like they want to keep Curry.

@memovalencia Curry is coming + Biedrins is the best defensive big man Nash's ever had. Good P&Rer, too. Phx is doing the right thing. http://twitter.com/RicBucher

posted like 10 minutes ago:

Nellie said Stephen Curry ain’t going anywhere. Curry was, to the Warriors, the second-best player in the draft behind Blake Griffin, so they aren’t parting with him.

Nellie: “No, I should be clear about that. He wasn’t drafted for somebody else. He is not going to be traded. He was drafted because we think he is going to be a terrific player, and he’s going to be right here. So he can unpack his bags, he can relax, go buy a house because he ain’t goin’ any place.”

Nellie also said that Curry will be the point guard. He said Curry is the best thing he’s seen since Steve Nash and that he thinks he will make a great point guard.

Nellie: “He’s a heck of a player. We drafted him because we think he’s going to be a great point guard. Maybe not his first year. It takes a while for point guards to mature and feel comfortable. I always saw Steve Nash in him, and he is the greatest player I’ve ever coached,” Nelson said. “I’ve been looking for another one for a long time and this is as close as I’ve ever seen in a young player. He has that same ability that Steve had. Shooting, passing, knowledge, just the natural things he’s done that he’s worked on his whole life.”

Check out his response when asked if Monta and Curry can co-exist.

Nellie: “That’ll be fine. Monta still has to work on his point guard skills as well and his passing skills. That was part of his program to get better at. This guy already has that. Monta has some work to do in that area but they’ll be fine together.”

After all that coddling and plotting based on Monta Ellis being the point guard, Nellie said Monta will (eventually) move to shooting guard and Jackson to small forward.
Remember, Monta has been deemed the point guard since late last season. They were so dialed into this Monta-at-point experiment that they traded away Jamal Crawford and flew to see Monta and “get on the same page” with him. Now, they may be back to the Baron days.

Nellie: “Yes, Jack is going back to 3. I emailed him that today, that ‘I moved you to 2 and you’re back to 3.’ We like Morrow very much, too, as a player in the backcourt. Jack said, ‘Wherever you want me, that’s where I’ll be.’”
