February 11, 2009. MediaTakeOut.com has learned that former major league second baseman Roberto Alomar is being sued for allegedly having unprotected sex with his ex-girlfriend and not notifying her that has full blown AIDS.
According to a lawsuit obtained by the NY Daily News, Alomar was sued by his ex-girlfriend Ilya Dall, who told the newspaper she lived with Alomar for three years and in 2005, she began noticing that his health declined. Dall claims that Alomar got tested in January 2006 while suffering from cough, fatigue and shingles.
The test later uncovered that Alomar had full blown AIDS.
The 41-year-old Alomar, a 10-time Gold Glove winner, played for San Diego, Toronto, Baltimore, Cleveland, the New York Mets, Chicago White Sox and Arizona, and was a .300 hitter with 210 homers and 1,134 RBI over a 17-year career.
He retired from baseball in 2005 citing health reasons.
