AIM icon does not work!

when I save the gif to my hard drive then try to make it my buddy icon, it says:

The image you have selected is too big.
The maximum size allowed is 7168 bytes.

has anyone got the icons to work yet?

u cant use paint to resize them just silghtly??

i have a mac and use adium instead of AIM, MSN, yahoo, etc.. and it let me use the icon the same size it was..

lol i aint talking about paint just google image resize and a list should come up. i have aim, msn, yahoo but i use trillian on windows and kopete on linux but i hate gaim.

this shit drove me crazy, i spent about 30 minutes tryin to resize it, but it made it look all broken up. I hope they fix it soon.
Trillian is awesome, there are so many damn smiley faces and shit its insane, i kinda gave up on tryin to figure out what some of them represent.
and Gaim truly does suck ass.
