Oh my bad, i shouldn't try and have an intelligent discussion on here. And thats not just a college course fool, its common sense. Most people dont know what is goin on, they just see "bailout" and $700 billion and they just think that we're giving them free money, and thats not the case. 80% of the population wouldnt be able to tell you the reason behind the current economic crisis. Thats half the problem. People get into these loans and they cant even cover the principal payments, let alone the interest. We gotta deal with fixing the problem first and then bringing to justice the people who made these retarded financial decisions, and educating the everyday citizen who has no idea what the difference is between the nominal rate the bank says their charging you and the higher effective rate that they are actually charging you. Get smart people, dont ever trust a bank or anyone else for that matter when it comes to your money.

Did the govt regulate how the money will be spent? Not really when you have 500,000 dollars being spent in 1 week. There is no excuse for this splurge whatsoever, none. You don't need to keep these guys happy by splurging 500,000 in 1 fucking week.

fool their company is still worth billions of dollars, they're just not liquid right now. 400,000 is nothing to that company. I know its ridiculous but thats just part of capitalism

Thats a fact, you think they care about $400,000? I didnt say that 400,000 isnt alot of money to most people but it isnt to a company that pulls in billions a year.

I think the point im tryin to make is that the $400,000 didnt come from the taxpayers. AIG is still makin billions a year its just that they hold so many loans that they will never be able to collect. They hold too much bad debt that their liabilities outweigh the assets that they can access and use as cash. Can they afford to spend $400,000 on shit like this? Yes. Should they? Of course not, but we all know they will continue to do it.

when you think about it, if they need money for a bail out technically they can't afford 500,000.

but still you agree in principle, splurging that shit for a rub and tug is fucked up.
