Here's a band I stumbled across a couple of months ago. They're a German group that make what I guess is considered black metal. They add symphonic elements (keyboards) into their music which gives it a sort of epic quality and the singer sounds downright demonic. I bought an album called "Serpent's Embrace" a couple months ago and have been bumping it nonstop. It's some of the most intense music I have ever listened to, but they also have a ballad with just a piano and a female singing (and it's an excellent song).

Is anyone familiar with these guys, or even interested in this type of music?

I never noticed this thread before, I know this band I used to have Blacken The Angel and Chapter III. Didn't really like those cds that much, so I deleted them for more space. If you want some awesome Symphonic stuff check out Limbonic Art, Anorexia Nervosa, Imoned, and Funereal Dusk. Though I've heard Agath's newest cd was trying to go for a Gothic metal sound so you might want to check out Indian Fall, Virgin Black, the Sins of thy Beloved, and To/Die/For.

I just got Blacken the Angel the other day and I actually like it a lot. I don't think as much as Serpent's Embrace, but it's still good IMO. Serpent's embrace just has amazing production on it, it's one of the main things that make the album appealing to me.

I'll check out some of those bands. Would you suggest any in particular?
