If the Jaguars (vs. Raiders) and Titans (vs. Jets) win their respective home games this Sunday, they'll help make NFL history.

With those two wins – both expected – the 2007 AFC South will become the best division of all time, based upon combined record (the NFL went to a divisional format in 1967).

The Colts lead the way at 12-2, Jacksonville is sailing along at 10-4, and Tennessee (8-6) and Houston (7-7) have both exceeded expectations. Three of the four are in our Dominant Dozen, with Houston a respectable No. 17.

Not bad for a group that was supposed to be Indianapolis and the Three Dwarves.

The best-ever division, based upon regular-season winning percentage, was the 1975 AFC Central. Cleveland did its best to ruin the party at 3-11, but Pittsburgh (12-2), Cincinnati (11-3) and Houston (10-4) were all top notch teams. The 1975 AFC Central went 36-20 (.643) through the full 14-game season of that era. Right now the 2007 AFC South is 37-19 (.661).

But the AFC South has three division games left, meaning the group is guaranteed a 3-3 communal record there (barring a rare tie). So with these expected wins by the Jaguars and Titans this week, the South-side crew will be locked into a 42-22 (.656) record this year, edging out the .643 of the 1975 AFC Central.

Certainly the AFC South showed how strong it was this past week with three road wins and a 4-0 record out of the division. The South, being just six years old, doesn’t really have a prevailing theme, except for Indianapolis dominating – and the Colts have done so again this year. They’re 4-0 in the division pending home games with Tennessee and Houston in which they'll be favored.

The AFC South is a combined 13-3 vs. the NFC. They're a combined 24-16 against the AFC, which includes division wins.
As of right now...

Basically, it talks about how this year's AFC South is, possibly, the greatest top to bottom division in NFL history, at least in terms of winning percentage and combined wins. There's a strong possibility that you could see a 14-2 Indy, 12-4 Jacksonville, 9-7 Tennessee, and 7-9 Houston.

Last-place Houston would be either tied for or the outright 2nd best team in four other divisions. 3rd place Tennessee would be either tied for or the outright 2nd best team in six other divisions. 2nd place Jacksonville would be the outright winner in four other divisions, and in 2nd in the other 3. First place Indianapolis would be either tied or the winner in 7 of 8 divisions.

heres the rest

moore block why do u like the titans? are from tennessee or got fam ties there? just askin cuz it seems strange for someone from up north to like a very far far away team

off topic on cbs here in texas the whole state is gonna get the texans vs colts hopfully its a good game i get to see a lot of texan and titan games down here and i really dont like the titans vy is a bitch fool is full of himself

Absolutely it's the best, that's the fairest way to evaluate a division, you can't just go by who the best team in the NFL is and then apply the title of best division to wherever they play.
