its obvious that the rich love ppl committing crimes cause it just keeps filling their pockets. ive seen it first hand with dui's and the amount of ppl that get them and the amount of money being made off these ppl.

so is the problem that people enjoy driving while drunk and will do it despite the risk involved? or is it just that ppl enjoy getting drunk? id say its the second reason, but i t would be ridiculous to suggest that ppl stop getting drunk. we've already seen prohibition didnt and will never work.

so if the govt really cared about protecting its citizens, rather than making money off them. why not invest money (and despite all the recesion, and slumping economy talks, and the fact that middle class ppl are struggling, the elite of this country do have LOTS and LOTS of money) into developing a well functioning 24 hr transit system, making it much more possible for ppl to get around through some type of public transportation. i love taking cabs. i wish i could take one everywhere i go, but im not trying to pay 40 50 bones everytime i go home. if i could afford that i would, but like alot of other ppl i cant. im talking much more buses, shuttles, trolleys etc. we have all those things, but not nearly enough of them, and especially after drinking hours when they would really come in handy. ppl like drinking. not drinking and driving. give them an affordable way to avoid driving home after a night at a bar or club at 3 in the morning and generally speaking im sure theyll take it.

i just though of this, so there could be something really flawed in the idea, or it could be something that has already been mentioned. but right now its making sense to me. and if cost is an issue, i dont buy it cause like i said, there is plenty of money out there. its just being spent wrong

agree or disagree?

an efficient, 24 hour transit system is the answer, just like you said. But who does that benefit? Us, the working class citizens, that's who. So obviously it wont happen (not while there is money to be made off of drunks, ask anyone with a DUI how much money they've spent since).

no and even when you have a transit system 24 hours, you hire security to maintain that, and uphold laws, and then it becomes a drunk trap

the trolley here runs late nights from mexico and best believe cops are on that shit, people throw up out the door at the stops...

alot of those kids are stopping at a specific place to go to their cars.

i mean, yur bus gotta let off near your house for that to be effective. that means theres gotta be a bus line everywhere. which is rarely the case..atleast here.

as far as it being another drunk trap, i agree, but its better than the alternative. if youre throwing up or acting like a dumb ass on a public transit system, if anything its best you spend the night in the drunk tank rather than drive home.

and as far as buses letting ppl off near their house, thats what im saying should be done. like 20sixx said "an effecient transit system"

lost all credit after that line
youre being sarcastic right?

and yeah i do know this wouldnt actually happen cause too much money is being made off of duis. just posed it as a hypothetical question to think about

carl thats based n how a city is set up tho i would imagine its easier to implement an upgrade of public transporation in one city, than other cities

(speaking on efficient transit systems)
yeah thats definately true. but every city can make an effort. dago could definetly make some improvements

and as far as cabs helping out. maybe cabs could lower their fares after like 10pm or something

lol, same here, i drove drunk alot in my old car, at parties, id drink the most in my group, and people would advise my homie to throw me his keys to drive us all home

but yea, i dont even think this would work with efficiant transit, cause most drunks i know will get lost and hop on wrong buses and do all kinds of stupid shit
