ALL MEMBERS AND GUESTS PLEASE READ THIS IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT.....
DANGEROUS AND DECEPTIVE

Check this out yall in the state of California Ward Connerly this punk ass uncle tom ass nigga has got a bill on the ballot that would hurt minorities. That would stop the monitoring of racial profiling, and a whole lot more shit that is important. This bill is to hit the California ballot March 2004. I know I'm only one person so I'm bringing it to my friends attention that this bill cannot be allowed to pass. Here's some more info on this bill that will give you a clearer view on its agenda.

Ward Connerly, the UC Regent appointed by Governor Pete Wilson, has introduced a dangerous, deceptive, and irresponsible initiative that he calls "The Racial Privacy Initiative," even though it has nothing to do with privacy and more to do with his political agenda.

The initiative is a radical measure that would damage our ability to address disparities by race or ethnicity in healthcare and disease patterns, educational resources and academic achievement, and hate crime and discrimination.

The initiative is also deceptive, with a long list of confusing "exemptions" that are designed simply to provide its backers with one-line comebacks to the serious concerns experts have raised about its sweeping, irresponsible approach.

The Information Ban has qualified for the next scheduled statewide ballot, which is currently March 2nd, 2004.

So please help in getting the word out about this bill and if your in Cali Vote against it....

I appreciate your time for reading this article....

ALITTLE MORE INFO ON IT!

Ward Connerly's so-called "Racial Privacy" Initiative is,
Dangerous, Deceptive, Irresponsible
From healthcare, to education, to basic civil rights protections, banning demographic information – basic vital statistics – about race and ethnicity is a bad idea.

It undermines accountability.

It blinds us to real differences between racial and ethnic groups in healthcare, disease patterns, educational opportunities, and academic achievement.

It takes away from doctors, educators, scientists, and advocates powerful tools to identify and measure how well we’re doing to treat, educate, and protect all Californians.

It handicaps community groups, local governments, and the state as they develop solutions to healthcare, education, and other disparities in our diverse state.

Demographic information helps us make smart choices. The Information Ban:
Makes Tobacco and Other Prevention Programs Less Effective

From lead poisoning to teen smoking, to suicide, the most effective and cost efficient prevention programs understand that public health risks affect communities. Racial and ethnic groups experience differences in treatment, have different rates of risk behavior, and respond to different prevention methods and messages. Health experts agree: race and ethnicity matter in prevention.

Stops Us From Tackling Racial Profiling

The Information Ban would make it impossible to institute the first step toward meaningful change: tracking racial profiling throughout the state. Far from ending racial profiling as Connerly claims, this initiative would guarantee it.

Blocks Enforcement of Hate Crime Laws

Connerly’s initiative would prevent the State Attorney General and public agencies from tracking race and ethnicity-based hate crimes and hamper community efforts to educate against hate.

Erodes Basic Civil Rights Protections

If the Information Ban passes, California will keep track of every form of discrimination EXCEPT for discrimination on the basis of race and ethnicity, the number one source of discrimination reports. State and local-funded efforts to test for discrimination in contexts such as rental housing will be shut down.

Hampers Efforts to Stop the Spread of Disease

Breast cancer. Heart disease. Infant mortality. Sickle-cell anemia. Prostate cancer. AIDS. Tuberculosis. Cervical cancer. These are just a few of the health conditions that affect us differently depending on our race or ethnicity. Connerly’s health exemption covers medical research, not basic public health data systems such as vital statistics, the source of much of our information about diseases and their effects on different racial and ethnic groups. The Information Ban takes this critical knowledge away from the medical community.

Undermines School Accountability

Information is the centerpiece of California’s Public School Accountability Program. The program holds schools to two standards: general improvement and improvement for students of different races. The Information Ban fails all of our students by hiding schools’ failures and successes in addressing those gaps.

Offers False Promise of "Privacy"

Connerly deceptively named his initiative the “Racial Privacy” initiative. The Attorney General rejected that title and so should you. The fact is that this initiative is not about our privacy rights -- it is about barring our access to crucial information
