The thing is, if any of you have ever met, knew, and talked to Ya Boy, he's talkin bout being a "Rockstar" since before he left for LA. He would always say that he wasn't trying to be a "rapstar", he wanted to be bigger than just rap.
bein a rockstar isnt any bigger than being a rapstar

its a term that was originated decades ago...for a life style that is a lot more common now

All you guys need to stop hating. He's selling hella records since he left the Bay. Screw a major deal, he's too big for that.
I agree with your first sentence but after that you lost me lol. my question to all yall that want him to drop an album, why hasnt Bishop Lamont, Glasses Malone, and Crooked I not dropped albums? Everybody be crying about Yuk not dropping enough albums, he drops one and its "i hate this album, its not like the thugged out the albulation days".

Wow, I hope you're not serious. Compare the biggest rapstars to the biggest rockstars and your list of rockstars will be a lot longer. With the exception of Jay-Z and Snoop, tell me one rapper that's even close to having more fans than U2, Kiss, the Rolling Stones, or Aerosmith....take your time....I'll wait.

i said NOW....all those people were at the top of their career decades ago...the ones still goin from that time period arent even on their own "rockstar" level that they once were

which is what my post was about....the rockstars of modern day and rapstars of modern day, are pretty equivalent, rapstars might have the end

whys everyone gotta be a rock star now? rap not a good enough image that everyone wants to be on pop music or a rock image? Howcome everyone need to be like the next person with the tight clothes? no hate tho. I know a fad when i see one. As for the music, I still want rap to go back to the way it was, I damnear quit on rap because of this pop/rap takeover. If I wanted to listen to t-pain id listen to his cd, I remember before akon even got on it, it was madonna i think. when I heard akon i thought it was some techno type r&b crossover, thats all i gotta say bout that. I still think of that techno or dance type stuff when I hear autotune used because thats where it came from. Dont nobody say roger troutman started it because thats different. I still listen to it, it dont bother me as long as its not overkill. sorry I got off topic a bit.

This is the last time I'm going to speak on this cause it's going to get off topic. You pretty much just made my point. Any of the rock groups I mentioned will still outsell ANY rapper, whether they came out at the same time or its some new artist. That's the appeal of being a rockstar, LONGEVITY and like it was said, being a LEGEND...Snoop was at the top of the game years ago, now look at him, barely going gold. Whereas Bruce Springstein sells out every show and he's on tour almost 75% of the year. Legends never die. That's why just one member of the Beatles can STILL sell out stadiums., Now tell me one rapper who can even hold a flame to any of them, I'm still waiting.

lol I think you are a bit confused...Ya Boy HAS NEVER BEEN A FREESTYLE BATTLE RAPPER.....nor has he ever been a "gangbanger" rapper....he did want to sign with Dre, but after that failed he left it alone....I really think yall putting too much on this rockstar shit....It's a gimmick, gimmicks sell. He tryna make money, if u don't like it, don't buy it.

It sounded like im not feelin ya boy but I think I might like this one more than kush 2009 considering the choices of dre beats he went with wernt the best, I support ya boy but dont really like the new look and direction as much. I was just speaking my mind tho. Hes hot in LA but he left the bay fans hanging.

i feel you on that. hella rappers try to disassociate themselves from their trade. a lil while ago rappers were wearing shirts that said im not a rapper. now a lot of rappers are embracing the rock star image.

being a rapper is nothing to be ashamed of. Take pride in your craft lol.
