LISBON, Maine (AP) -- A 78-year-old man is facing charges in a road rage incident in which he allegedly pointed a gun at another driver.
Police arrested Daniel Davis at gunpoint after he allegedly pointed a handgun at a woman who had passed his car. The Hallowell man faces weapons charges as well as a charge of operating under the influence, police Chief David Brooks said.
A 34-year-old woman from Sabattus told police she was driving south on state Route 125 and had passed Davis, who was driving slowly, Brooks said.
Moments later, she noticed that Davis was tailgating before he pulled alongside, pointed a gun at her and then passed her Wednesday night, the chief said.
Police credited the woman for calling police on a cell phone and following Davis until he was arrested by police. Davis was released Thursday on $540 bail after being held overnight at the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn.
