horrible that that little girl had to die behind a GROWN MAN who shot and killed a 17 year old boy. The police did a horrible and unexcusable thing. But if in fact the father was helping a MAN who had just killed a teenager then the blame should be 50/50 in my book.

Lets keep it all the way solid. Some of you may think Im simpathizing with the police here and I am not. I am only looking at the total picture. the police wouldnt have been there if not for some stupid circumstance. Hopefully its not a case of KARMA being a muthafucka.

R.I.P. to the little girl.
But if you are taught not to value your own life, then you will end up doing things like killing others. This man who killed a 17 year old didn't value his life because of shit like this happening. Who cares if your gonna end up dying or getting blamed for shit anyways?

Plus none of you know the state of shit out here. Its grimey, jobless rate is way above 30% in the city of Detroit. Job opportunity is even worse, most people work outside of Detroit if they are making a living without any side hustle. Plus you see abandoned houses and crackheads and prostitutes on every corner of this damn city. The whole damn place is the "bad part of town".

Jones claimed the officers had the wrong house, but Godbee said in the statement the 34-year-old suspect in Blake's death was found and arrested at the home. In addition, a vehicle and a moped matching the descriptions of those involved in Blake's shooting were also found, he said.

The suspect's name was not released.
i think its all about who u siding with on this one..

RIP
Horrible to hear

Things like this happen all the time and rarely get into print disclosed to the public

Ive spent alot of time in Detroit, most people have no idea how bad it is out there, I gotta say, there are so many people actin like there about some thug shit these days (the greater east bay comes to mind as a example), its trendy now, guarantee you if those people go spend some time in Detroit, they come back home, tuck in their shirt, and go find a job.

Its really sad to because Detroit has such great history and visually other than the grime its a really nice area, Ive had alot of summer bbqs on Belle Isle, big part of my childhood, its hard to equate such great memories and Belle Isle which is amazing to the violence the D is known for.

I wish I could say i see Detroit turning around but I cant.

update... "first 48" film crew was at the scene and has video footage of the incident... cops lied to begin with... allegedly the shot was fired from outside the house...

(CNN) -- Calling law enforcement accounts "absurd," a Michigan attorney sued police Tuesday in the death of 7-year-old girl killed during a raid in Detroit.

Attorney Geoffrey Fieger said members of the Detroit Police Special Response Team acted out of line when they conducted a raid on the family home of Aiyana Jones, who was severely burned and then killed by an officer's bullet. She died Sunday.

"This type of activity by a police force is unacceptable in America," Fieger said at a news conference in his office. "What is equally unacceptable is the cover-up that has occurred."

Fieger filed both state and federal lawsuits alleging gross negligence, a violation of civil rights and a conspiracy to cover up the violation of civil rights.

Detroit Assistant Police Chief Ralph Godbee has said that preliminary information indicated that officers approached the house with a search warrant for the girl's uncle in connection with the shooting of a high school student Friday.

Godbee said the officer's gun discharged accidentally inside the home after an altercation and physical contact with the girl's grandmother, Mertilla Jones.

Jones denied such an altercation Tuesday. Fieger said he plans to file another lawsuit for false arrest and accused the police of covering up their own mistakes by blaming the family.

Fieger said videotape of the incident shows that the shooting was not accidental. In an interview Monday, he told CNN affiliate WDIV that a crew was filming the raid for the A&E network's show, "The First 48." The program documents police investigations in the first 48 hours after a homicide.

Tuesday, Fieger recounted the events shown on the video that he said led to the girl's death. At times, he had to pause, his voice drowned out by sobbing family members.

Fieger said officers tossed a smoke bomb -- described by police as a "flash bang device" to distract occupants -- into the house, severely burning Aiyana, who was on the couch in the front room with her grandmother. She was then struck in the neck by a bullet fired from outside the house, he said.

Godbee has said he doesn't know how Fieger saw the video, according to WDIV.

"If Mr. Fieger has access to anything that would be evidence in this case, he should, as an officer of the court, get it immediately to the Michigan State Police, which will be investigating," he said in a statement.

Fieger said the police and the city owe apologies to the family, especially to Mertilla Jones for trying to blame her for her granddaughter's death. He said officers need to be held to account just as anyone else would.

"The people of the city of Detroit have got to believe the police will protect them, and not kill them," Fieger said.

"This is an opportunity to come together, not to tear us apart," he said. "Apologize now and we can start the road to healing."

good shit on The First 48 being there filming - you know there's solid footage of what actually happened. I hope the officer who fired the shot doesn't take the easy way out & off himself... the only true justice would be to have him viciously sodomized and eventually beaten half to death behind bars for this shit... make the motherfucker suffer.

C'mon, have you been in the D recently?

The abandoned homes filled with addicts and dilapidated schools facilities are just as hazardous for children's health.

On top of all of that, Metro-Detroit is one of the most culturally segregated areas of the Northeast. You know when you cross city lines, the color of the gas station attendant changes for each area.

Let's all hope people get sick of living like this, and finally grow the fuck up and shake their neighbor's hand and say "FUCK YOU" to big businesses. Once this social movement starts, there will be no stopping it, but the biggest problem is waking the people up from their depressive slumber.

^^^ Hella true, another place that is a trip is Grosse Point, I think its just east of Detroit, some of the most amazin houses i have ever seen just sittin on the lake, looks like they coulda filmed Cribs there

I dunno my grandfather is from Bay City and Ive been up there to, its hard to compare culturally diversity in Michigan vs Cali, cuz other than whites, blacks, the mexicans in mexitown and the arabs in Dearborn, thats pretty much the show, I dont think Filipinos have made there way over yet. Basically my point is Bay City seemed like blacks and whites doin fine, but there is definitely a mentally that exits in Metro Detroit amongst whites, that blacks ruined there childhood paradise. Ex Mayor Fitzpatrick, the most recent example.

I love the D tho man, they eat good out there!!!! Downtown is getting better to I think like the founder of dominos, pizza hut, and another one are all out of Detroit

Detroit really is one of the greatest cities in American History, my dad grew up before the race riots and he talks about Dtroit like it was the midwest NY or some shit,

I truly dont understand how its not a national state of emergency with the amount of killing that goes on in the big cities like the Chi and the D, ( I think when i was 6 there was like 700 homicides in Detroit) and even the smaller cities all up and down the rust belt, shit is bad out there, and they have to fuck with winter

God damm I love Cali
