Honestly, it's a good idea to a certain extent, but there is no one simple solution, but ideas like this are good. But sometimes you have to put your personal taste to the side (which is hard to do for most people), and go with who has a fan base. Who has sold a lot of units? As far as myself, I'm not trippin off the rap game like that. I'm actually cool. I really ain't chasin' that dream like that no more. It's been real good to me (I bought a house, my son a car, helped my brother get a car when he got out after 15yrs, and I'm on 22's all off rap), so I'm kind of cool(but this doesn't mean I'm never puttin' out anymore music for those who appreciate good music, time will tell). All I can do is wish good luc to all of those still chasin' it. And keep comin' up with ideas like this, cuz sooner or later (hopefully) one of these ideas will work!
Lil C.S....Just to let you know I meant no disrespect as far as excluding you from the list.(Not saying you took it that way)What people should understand is i didnt make a top 10 list.If that were the case my list would look a lil different. An example is i listed TINY-DOO..not because he is a better rapper then lets say you,I picked him cause his style is right along with some artist in the mainstream that are out now,his sound is extremely marketable,Bossman hogg as well he has a mainstream appeal..yet still got a dago sound...
Everyone I mixed and matched not just the best rappers, but those who as a unit would not only sound good on tracks, but the combination of sounds would be more likely to open the door and be accepted nationwide.
Again the goal wouldnt be to make another dago classic c.d.....thats pointless, unless the goal is to sell the c.d at fam bam.
Im not saying Im 100% right but obviously something aint working.there have been numerous compilations out of dago...with alot of artists yall mentioning...And at this point dago has a market, but it needs to increase...some artsist may only sell 1000,-2000 c.ds....when the door opens that may change the average to maybe 10,000-20,000..or more(and thats with no major)...
Stop and take a look at whats going on...how much longer you think hyphy/crunk is gonna be top 10? everything has its course, and if it comes full circle...at this point dago is gonna be overlooked.sure there will be a few artists that put out some good albums....Look at L.A. these guys ar getting signed...some say..like Glasses malone that he aint gonna have an album out until another year or so..same with bishop lamont...well other artists like this such as badlucc are getting deals and if what i said happens and the crunk/hyphy thing dies they are right in line timing and all and there will be another bunch of L.A. rappers repping the west and Dago pushing units at fam bam.
So why get overlooked again? will history repeat itself? Knowing this will you repeat your steps?
I couldve picked Young sau,(who happens to be one of my favorites) 12 gauge shottie, cee wee,Lil C.S.Gangsta Boi...we can play the name game...and turn this into a my favorite dago rapper thread, and then go pick there album up at fam bam over the next few years.....or we can maybe politic and maybe make this happen.
again its not just to make a good c.d...or a dago classic. Its to move as a unit and with each artsist fan base the c.d not only would be a dago best seller...but they can book shows, out of state..out of country...spreading the sound infecting everyone along the way like the siccness
