boring ass movie... the direction or production just wasnt to par in my opinion... i liked the soundtrack, and some scenes were dope, but that shit was anticlimatic and dragged on... that shit with the fake Ja was funny as hell though... I didn't know that 50 and Ja really knew eachother from way back... and i'm guessing Magestic was supposed to be Supreme McGriff, right? and mcgriff was the biggest crack mover in the 80's and up, he really did build that empire, so if 50 was really close to ol' boy, you gotta believe he was somewhat grimy... i mean, his high school photo isnt with a suit, tie, and white boys like p. diddy...

yeah, the shit was interesting. i'm not a big 50 fan but i was interested in seeing the streets of NY (coming from a cali cat), in the hood hear all the billboards are in spanish... thats the biggest difference i saw between our ghetto's..

Its a hidden track on the soundtrack. We were listening to the CD the other day, and I was asking my cuzzo about the song cuz it was his CD. He said it wasn't on the tracklist, then all of a sudden, it started playing

It definitely could've been better, but the director/producer fucked up....

"50 Cent's fanbase might love this valentine to the rapper’s ego no matter the quality, but other audiences might not be as forgiving with this half-realized urban fairy tale."
-- Brian Orndorf, EFILMCRITIC.COM

"I hate watching films that are kind of autobiographical, but not. The pacing is painfully slow, feels overly long and there's almost no music in this!"
-- Michelle Alexandria, ECLIPSE MAGAZINE

"On one hand you've got Tupac Shakur, Will Smith, Ice Cube, Mark Wahlberg, Ice-T, LL Cool J, Sean Combs and Andre Benjamin. On the other you've got 50 Cent. This kid stinks! "
-- Sean Burns, PHILADELPHIA WEEKLY

"50 Cent may strive to be fresh with his music, but this is just another doin’ the crime while workin’ the rhyme movie that only his fans will love."
-- Cherryl Dawson and Leigh Ann Palone, THEMOVIECHICKS.COM

"A gangsta rapper without fire in the belly isn't terribly interesting, cinematically or musically."
-- Jami Bernard, NEW YORK DAILY NEWS

"For all its biographical truth, Get Rich's journey into a ghetto of hustlers, gangstas and mindless violence is all too familiar."
-- Kirk Honeycutt, HOLLYWOOD REPORTER

With the emotional range of a wet sock, Jackson mumbles through his lines with a blank expression."
-- Stefan Halley, HERO REALM

"Crippled by a trite story line and a serious lack of flash from rapper and first-time actor Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson, Get Rich or Die Tryin' pretty much dies trying."
-- Tom Long, DETROIT NEWS

"If you insist on filming the same basic story for the third time in a row, you'd better make it better. They didn't."
-- Jack Garner, ROCHESTER DEMOCRAT AND CHRONICLE

"Howard is the movie's sole saving grace, but his presence serves as a constant reminder that his similarly themed Hustle & Flow (2005) is a vastly better film."
-- Ken Fox, TV GUIDE'S MOVIE GUIDE

"50 spends the film with one look on his face, and it’s the look that you imagine a caveman would have when confronted with a cellphone."
-- Devin Faraci, CHUD

"Get Rich seems stagy and phony. What a missed opportunity, because the rapper's compelling story offers ample opportunity for drama."
-- Randy Myers, CONTRA COSTA TIMES
