I can't believe half of the shit I'm reading in this thread.....
somebody threw out the name ROGER CRAIG when asked about the niners having a RB close to 1000/1000 in recent years??....ROGER CRAIG?? you do realize that he hasn't played since 1993....and not as a niner since 1990.......FOURTEEN YEARS AGO.
next up...brandon Lloyd....kid does have some nice hands....has made some big catches....has potential....but lets get him in a meaninful game first before we start blowing him up like the next superstar....maybe it will happen....but lets see something more than his 14 catch season last year to base this on
as far as a niners - raiders comparison we got going on
QB - has to go to the raiders....weather or not you like gannon...you can't just throw out the fact that he was a league MVP two years ago...a 4 time pro-bowler....and has more experience than the entire niners QB's COMBINED....how can you discredit him for missing more than half the season due to an injury last year??...and with Collins as a BACKUP.....we are actually strong at QB this year....for the niners..it's a big question mark on how rattay will do...and if he fucks up..is dorsey the man?
RB - I will give it to the niners as long as barlow can stay healthy.....he is a very good rb...have to give it up....i like the raiders depth though....with wheatly having a backup roll the last few years...his legs are stronger/fresher than they would have at his age if he was playing all the time.....hambrick almost had 1,000 last year.....zeroeae (can never spell that name.ha)....fargas....and in this preseason, i've been impressed with REDMAN....lots of depth...but barlow is the best of all those
CB's - Charles Woodson is easily the best from either team....phillip needs to improve some...he is too inconsistent for me to throw his name out there like he is a stud....

Garner was not "let go"...he bought out (yes, paid the raiders) the last year of his contract for 400,000 so that he could be a free agent...he knew with turner coming in at head coach he wouldn't be getting the time at RB like he is used to...b/c turner favors big powerful runners
also..why is garners name always thrown out in the whole "raiders took him from the niners discussion" ??.....garner played ONLY TWO SEASONS in S.F....played three in OAKLAND....and maybe nobody remembers that he played his FIVE SEASONS in philly??....s.f. was shortest stay of his career

Garner paid his way out because he wasnt being used in the raider offense. The reason why Garner is always mentioned as a Niner is because he had his best 2 reguvinated seasons in the NFL as a Niner. When the Niners picked Garner up he was off of waivers and not even suspected to start and then beat out Lawrence Phillips who was let go after the 3rd week of the season and the rest was history. Garner only had 1 1000 yrd rushing season before he was a Niner and was in the shadows of Ricky Watters in Philly. He was always injured and finally made a name for himself and managed to stay healthy as a Niner so his stock went up!
