Well, That quit hatin start 408'n is a faded war cry for me. Muthafuccas dont wanna see you come up no matter where they from, but speaking from the 408 perspective...you can dam near have Russel Simmons posted at G-Roc's studio and happen to hear a Full CLip track. He can be like man that shit is hard, is there anyway you can put me in contact with them? And the muthafuccas he say that too who might have been with you just the day before will act like they have no way of getting in contact with you. I know, I seen the shit go down like that first hand.
I respect what Rae did, he branched out. An OG in the music biz told me along time ago, "stop making records to be tighter/or to compete with the man across the street, make shit that competes with all...." Thats real shit. This feature shit, dam. I feel muthafuckas should put out true solo albums. I understand that features can get you more sales and all that, but a nicca gotta stand on his own. Get your respect in this game before you work 3 extra jobs to have a feature on your CD that was bought off some DAT tape. If a muthafucca feature with me, I want to have the artist with me in the studio so that we can vibe and see what we can put together. I feel if you a strong enough artist, you dont need all them features, just let a feature do a hook or somthin, but you be the main focus of the song, feel me?
I've come to the conclusion that you just gotta push this shit yourself. Cause relying on distribution aint always gonna get you the sales. Sad to say there are clicks in this shit, and if you aint down with certain clicks, you will get blocked on things (eg. shows, comps, radio slots, etc...) REESE LOC dont swing on nuts tho, I would rather make a way myself then to have to try and be down and conform so that I could get action at the same oppurtunities that I'm entitled to, but I aint gettin cause one of the "click" was like, me & Reese aint cool, dont have his shit on that show/flyer/ad/comp. So all I can do is just let my music speak for itself. We keep pushin this shit the right way then muthafuccas will HAVE TO come fuck with us, fuck seeking them out. They need the SJ car, look at why alot of these cats do shows out in SJ, and you never hear of them really doing no shit in they city...
