So Nabby isnt being resigned, obviously. "Cap issues", which is legit in hockey, they dont want to pay him $5 or $6 mill to be inconsistent when it mattered most. That's not just his fault, of course; the rest of the team was inconsistent too. But the story of this years playoffs, in terms of team salary, is a team can get better goalies, cheaper. Experience doesn't mean shit the last two years, Craig fucking Anderson, Jonas Hiller (is that the European version of Jonah Hill?), Antti Niemi, and that's just goalies the sharks have faced in the last 2 years. That being said, Nabokov is one of the greatest Sharks ever, and has never fully gotten the love he should have.

What a sick score too, 7-4.

Different sources are saying hes gonna go the Flyers, which is interesting because Brian Boucher was our backup 2 years ago and then was on the Flyers team this year, and made it to the Stanley Cup Finals. If the Flyers want him before July 1st, which is before the free agency period begins, the Flyers give us a 7th round pick. Dope.

Nabby gone means Marleau and Pavelski re-signed. If you don't why thats good I don't wanna hear shit from you.

Nichol and Wallin were both re-signed . Nichol is a fucking sav, dude hits someone every chance he gets, he's a wildman. Wallin is "tough" as GM Doug Wilson would say, playing with an injury in the playoffs, but he played like 3 whole playoffs games, and who doesn't "play with an injury" in the playoffs? Wallin does have a ring with Carolina, and hes not gonna make much money, so its an ok signing.

We need to sign Manny Malhotra, who, like Nichol, was new last year, and signed on a 1 year basis. Id say they more than earned their yobs. Malhotra, who's married to Steve Nash's sister, turned down a 4 year year, $8 million dollar deal with the Atlanta Thrashers to sign with the Sharks for a year for $750,000. What the fuck does that tell you. Malholtra and Nichol win a shitload of faceoffs and Malhotra can shoot too.

^^^Yup, heres a little blurb from that.

Jed Ortmeyer will not be offered a new deal by the Sharks and will walk as a UFA on July 1.
"They said it didn't look like there was going to be room," said Ortmeyer. "Financially, it's not like I'm a bit hit. I guess they're going with younger players." The fourth-line winger made $550,000 last season. He also said that his recovery from double sports hernia surgery is ahead of schedule.

Manny Malhotra and the Sharks are working on a new contract.
"Those negotiations are ongoing," said San Jose GM Doug Wilson. "It has to be something that makes sense for all parties involved. We like Manny very much." Malhotra is set to become an unrestricted free agent later this week, but a deal could still be finalized with the Sharks after that happens.

Jay Leach has been offered a two-way contract from the San Jose Sharks.
It is expected that he will test the waters on July 1 when he becomes an unrestricted free agent, but he may return to the Sharks if he can't find a better deal.

So Malhotra signed a 3 year, 7.5 million dollar deal with the CANUCKS. FUCK. what the fuck happened??? Sharks didnt offer him that much??? i fucking hate Vancouver.

On a good note though, we signed goalie Antero Niittymaki to a 2 year, 4 million dollar deal. Hes 30, played several seasons with Philly, and last year with Tampa Bay. not a bad signing at all. Theyre predicting he could win 50 games next year.

The San Jose Sharks have tendered a qualifying offer to Devin Setoguchi.
Derek Joslin and Steven Zalewski also received qualifying offers from the Sharks. San Jose decided to cut ties with Daniel Rahimi, Michael Vernace and Matt Jones by not giving them offers.

The San Jose Sharks have reportedly inked Cameron Macintyre to a two-year deal.
There terms of the deal are not yet known, but it might be a one-way contract. Macintyre has spent the last four seasons playing for Princeton University.

Negotiations between Evgeni Nabokov and the Philadelphia Flyers don't appear to be going well.
Don Meehan, Nabokov's agent, said that as of Monday, there's been no progress towards a contract with the Philadelphia Flyers. With the Nabokov situation looking murky, there's been conflicting reports about the Flyers' attempting to approach the Stars' about Marty Turco. Both Turco and Nabokov are scheduled to become unrestricted free agents on July 1st.

Theres a reason we didnt re-sign Malhotra, Canucks overpaid for him lol... we need all the $$ we can save so we can get some solid d-men. Niitty is a bit younger and cheaper than Nabby, we're also goin a different direction in the way we play our d, we wont heavily rely on a goaltender to do the dirty work for us..

ull be missed nabby and malhotra, anyone besides me miss Shelley? we need an enforcer
