I stand by my conviction that Vallejo is just like Compton now.

This week:

Man murdered in truck waiting for carpool
Woman murdered in car
Woman raped in her home at gun point
Drive-by with no injuries
Woman pulled over for speeding and has gunshot wound in her belly

Thats all I can think of off the top of my head, but Vallejo is like a fuckin war zone now. I have lived here my whole life, and NEVER thought I would be too scared to walk 2 blocks to the store after dark, but now you couldnt pay me to.

Residents Feel Safe In The Once Notorious Compton
Post by Casey Gane-McCalla in Nation on Jan 19, 2011 at 5:12 pm

COMPTON-Compton, California, a neighborhood once notorious for drugs, gangs and violence has seen a significant drop in crime. Yahoo News investigates why.

With a huge drop in homicides in a historically crime-ridden part of Los Angeles County, longtime residents say they finally feel safe sitting on their front porches and visiting neighborhood parks.
Compton, Calif., tallied only 24 homicides in 2010, down from 36 in 2009 and 87 in 1991, according to L.A. Times crime reporters. All in all, homicides plunged by 67 percent in less than five years, and other violent crimes are also way down.
Local authorities credit a 10-year effort to strengthen community ties and fight gangs. Residents tip off cops to possible crimes and help prevent youths from joining gangs, sheriff’s officials say.

One guy near my old town killed 3-5 bums and threw their bodies in a manhole one night.
Then shortly after a guy killed someone in their home, buried the body in the backyard, then invited a friend over and lived in the dead guys house for several months before getting caught.

Now that city is fucked up lol

Shit is getting bad all over, I just moved to Augusta, GA a couple months ago and this little ass city had 45 homicides in 2010. I lived here for 6 months back in 2007 and shit wasn't nearly this bad.

One of the main contributors is our tiny police force, there are no cops around here. It seems like there are 8-10 cruisers on the entire force now. Vallejo was already the worst city in the north bay but now people aren't worried about getting caught.
