Rode NTK, Blue Baby Bottle, Blue Blueberry,Neumann TLM-103,Neumann TLM-103MT,AKG C414,Shure KSM44,Audiotechnica 4050

if i was you, i'd go with a Baby Bottle and a Nuemann TLM-103 or Rode NTK

with the NTK and Blue, it'll run you about a G(guitar center in campbell le tme talk the NTK down to 400 from 500) and the Baby Bottle you can prolly talk down to the same price, the Nuemann runs about 6-700
get an NTK/TLM and a Blue Baby Bottle...one's for the hi-pitch voices, one's for the deep voices

If you save another $500 or so you'll open up to a little bit more. So I'll give you some shyt I've been laced on.

1.) Brauner Phantom C This mic comes from germany. The guy who owns the company ( Dirk Brauner ) has been making top of the line TUBE mics for years now, this is first FET mic.

Phantom C - Review from Sound on Sound

Also later this year Stepen paul ( if you dont know who he is either he is WORLD FAMOUS for his mod's to old and new mics ) has a microphone coming out threw STUDIO PROJECTS. Price is said to be in the $1500 + range, and from what they say will shit on mic's double that price.

Also try Korby Audio. Korby works for Neumann, he has great knowledge of there mics, and now has his own versions of classic Neumann mic's. The web site isn't fully up yet but you can get his mics threw vintageloop He has a version of the Neumann 47 FET mic at about $1,200.

You now have been laced with some very well kept secrets of the music industry.

I found this on another forum today. Not sure when they will come out or the price of them either.

Has anyone seen or heard about the new Rode mics that are coming out soon, the K2 and the NT2000? I have not heard anything about release dates as of yet, but they sure sound like they will be sweet! Nothing on their web site as of yet, just a small blurb in EQ magazine...

The K2 is their new tube mic, built on NTK technology, but has less noise, and a continuously variable polar pattern.

The NT2000 is a new LD condensor with a continuously variable polar pattern, a continuously variable pad, and a continuously variable high-pass filter, all with less than 10dB self noise.

@T1 when you plan on buying, and is this mic just for you or will you be recording alot of cats with it, it makes a big difference.

One more I forgot the Soundelux U195. It is tuned a little more flat, with a little hyped highs ( not over powering though ) but also has a "FATT" switch that boast's the low end. So it can effectivley give you two different tones. One more Bright, one more Dark.

lol, he has a big rap crew with lots of different voices
I know who he is folkz, me and him have talked several times.

I was inqiuering if he wanted the mic to fit his voice more, or was he looking for something in general to be more neutral to record alot of different types of voices.

I've heard the TLM too, and didn't care for it, kinda harsh in the highs like my 4033 gets with some cats.....
