yeah, i mean..to me most of those are kinda a given..like stepping outside for a cop and not letting him in the house...but the not talking shit....thats a red flag for guilt and nervousness..

not talking should be for certain situations where youre guilty and you arent trying to incriminate yourself

but even then, sometimes its better to just admit to the shit

like yeah i was smoking weed big deal man

something i wouldnt admit to: having "one beer" at a sobriety check
happened to me once and i seriously had one beer. if i woulda told him that woulda been my ass. but instead i passed the sobriety checkpoint and was on my way

For sure, on the not talking thing, I kinda look at it more like 'talk as little as possible', act like you are bored and are just a silent person in general.

My good homie works for the public defenders office so I get to hear alllll kinds of dumb shit people say once they start running their mouths and they are nervous. You would like to think the cops make that shit up, but he says 99% of the time you ask the dude in jail "you didn't really say that, right?" and they say, "Yeahhh, well, I was just b.s.-ing with the cops you know"....LOL. Case closed. The lawyer can't do shit for you.

Oh yeah, and the best reason not to talk much to a cop, is those dumb bastards spend all day trying to get people to incriminate themselves and you only spend... well not very much time at all trying not to incriminate yourself, so if you get in a verbal jousting match with them, they are probably gonna win, just because they practice all day....

but honestly, a cop can do whatever the fuck he wants to you
exactly. this is all technical fuck authority intellectual bullshit. i took many criminology classes and understand all this is technically true, but if youre some youngster, and especially in the hood, this doesnt apply to you. generally speaking, cops do and get away with breaking these rules all the time. i'd say if you're white (or just lower class. if you're a lower class white, you're fucked too), and you really are completely innocent and have nothing against you, then you can get away with trying to undermind a cop and exercise power over him. otherwise you're fucked no matter how much you try to exercise the rights you learned you have in some pamphlet you got in berkeley.
