'Dinosaur' washed up on Santa Barbara beach in California | Metro News

Seal? Dog? Er… dinosaur?

A strange, bald creature with little flippers and unfeasibly large canines has washed up on a beach, leading locals to speculate that the creature is a dinosaur from more than 65million years ago.

Californian natives interviewed after the discovery commented on the animal’s unusual appearance from photos presented to them.

And their descriptions, some of which didn’t differ hugely from expert opinion, ranged from the possibly accurate to the definitely bizarre.

Josh Curtis said: ‘To me it looks reminiscent of a dinosaur… like an old dog, ancient.’

The strange creature was found washed up on a beach in Santa Barbara earlier this week.

Michael Curtis told ABC 3: ‘I’d say it looks like a combination of a seal and dog with fangs dried up, potentially.’

Previous sightings of strange creatures washed up out of the sea – often misidentified as legendary creatures such as chupacabra – have often turned out to be dogs who have been in the ocean for an extended period.

Some commenters claim the new find has been identified as an American badger with its hair removed – but this has not yet been confirmed

Well shit, if it hasn't been confirmed the only other logical explanation is that this is some kind of prehistoric species that survived undetected for millions of years. That or its an alien lifeform
