Honestly, if you have any extra money just go buy the new Grizzly Bear. It's one of the best albums I've heard in a very very long time.
Well when you are back up and running just think of all the shit you will have to download and catch up on.

They have a couple more things (a live album and a couple splits) that I'll try to find later.
Teenage Cool Kids are a band out of Denton, Texas... where ever the fuck that is. They play a mix of indie and I guess poppy punk (but not pop punk if that makes sense). Great stuff for the summertime and drinking to.

The Itelligence are a great band from Seattle. I've been listening to this album a lot lately. They put out a great split with Thee Oh Sees last year and while the bands don't sound exactly alike they do have some of the same feel and I could see people on here who like Thee Oh Sees liking...
They aren't from Africa or anything but if you want some crazy sounding tribal like drumming mixed in with other weird shit check out Teeth Mountain.

If you like what you hear at all let me know and I can post their albums.
I've talked about them a few times on here in the past. I was really looking forward to this album but after a couple listens it was pretty bland sounding compared to their older stuff. They changed the vocals up (most people would probably say for the better, I liked the older style more...
I've been annoying my neighbors by playing bands from In the Red Records really loud on my stereo today so...
The Intelligence
The King Kahn & BBQ Show
Mystery Girls
Thee Oh Sees
Jay Reatard
It's funny how different peoples opinions are because the vocals are probably my favorite part. If I recall you didn't care much for The Smiths so I could see how you wouldn't care much for this.
Yeah, I saw it floating around on a lot of blogs but didn't check it out because of the cheesy band name and ugly ass cover. Don't ask me why because I never try to "judge a book by its cover" but I did with this one for awhile. Then someone said it reminded them of a cross between The Smiths...

It kind of takes the magic out of it now.
Ummmm, I copy and pasted exactly what you wrote when you asked that about Santogold. I was messing with you man lol.
I'll have to check out her stuff when I get home tonight. Never even heard of her before now but was reading an article about her on NPR and it sounds like something I might like.
I've listed this band in my top 5 bands/artists this very second a few times and this is a great spring/summer type of record. Highly recommended for fans of The Smiths, The Cure (their poppier side), My Bloody Valentine, etc.
