I can't speak on other beers but my company uses 2-row malt as a base malt. Whereas Bud, Coors, Miller use single row malt. Their way is cheaper and easier to mass produce. Plus we add dry hops in a few times which adds to the ingredients which adds to the price. And fuck a $20 six pack...

Most mass produced beer will tell the day/year and which plant made it. Mexican beers (corona, modelo, and pacifico) all have it in the numbers giving you the born on date
