    Black Sabbath fans

    Check out this band called The Sword. It's very Sabbathy metal..in fact, they sound like Sabbath 2006 to me, but in a good way. It's nothing innovative, but they have some stuff worth listening to. http://www.myspace.com/thesword

    Draconian

    Anybody heard of/listen to them? They've got a new album coming out on Oct. 10 in the US (Sept. 29 in euro), "The Burning Halo". It's melodic gothic/doom metal for those who don't know..

    Vikings (problem with sources)

    I'm doing a little write-up for my history class basically comparing the portrayal of Vikings in The 13th Warrior (terrible movie) to what they were truly like. I'm stuck now writing about Viking weaponry, trying to figure out if spears or swords are the primary weapon of Vikings. Both my...

    A. afarensis Child Skeleton Found In Ethiopia

    'Lucy's baby' found in Ethiopia The 3.3-million-year-old fossilised remains of a human-like child have been unearthed in Ethiopia's Dikika region. The female Australopithecus afarensis bones are from the same species as an adult skeleton found in 1974 which was nicknamed "Lucy". Scientists...

    @Sykotic (viking metal)

    Yeah, those albums are viking metal. I've heard only one album from Enslaved and didn't like it much ("Rune" or "Ruun" or something like that). Try some Moonsorrow.."Verisakeet" reminds me a little of the Bathory stuff you were talking about.

    Tie Domi

    I know most of you could give a fuck less about hockey, but yesterday one of my favorite players of all time retired, Tie Domi. The only reason I'm posting this is that Tie is a true warrior and he was the first motherfucker to stand up for his teammates. He's a tiny guy but would take on the...

    Where my Jazz fans at?

    I'll vouch for Thelonius Monk, too. Coltrane and Davis are the kings of course (but I still don't actively listen to them).

    @Sykotic (viking metal)

    I finally found some Moonsorrow and they're amazing. The first thing I heard was Verisakeet, which has a real raw sound that I like. I was bumping that album nonstop for days. I just got the rest of their albums last night..I haven't really had time to listen to them, but going through the songs...

    Where my Jazz fans at?

    Chick Corea. He's just about the only jazz artist that I've heard that I can actually enjoy listening to.

    More Floyd

    I had to sign up to send them. It only took about 2 minutes for the whole process, so it's worth your time.

    More Floyd

    I've got nothing to do tonight, so I decided to to upload a few live PF track for those who care to hear them... These 3 songs are meant to be played in sequence. They're taken from a show in early 1975 before the album WYWH was in it's complete form (the individual songs were still under...

    audioslave-revalations

    Audioslave is a clash of styles. I didn't like their first album and skipped their second, even though I meant to give it a try. Maybe I'll see what this one's all about. I agree with Nuttkase, Rage is dope, Soundgarden is better (IMO), but Audioslave just isn't that appealing.

    Metal Torrents

    I just started using torrents about a month or two ago and am very happy with what I have found/aquired. But, I've had lots of trouble finding less popular metal acts. Does anyone know of any sited with a good selection of metal torrents?

    ha..i was gonna say that, but when you're trying to make a point it's not good to contest it in the same statement.
