Anyone else listen to 10 Years? I think these two albums are pretty solid. Their singer definitely sounds like Maynard and the band sounds similar to A Perfect Circle and Tool. Even their drumming sounds like Danny Carey on some songs. Any thoughts on this band?
EXACTLY.....that's the tone I'm after on the guitar too. It's that spacey bluesy Strat sound......
You don't like his vocals on The Division Bell? I think it's a great album.....
By the way, the song "Sorrow" is fucking amazing!!! I've watched it numerous times on the PULSE Live DVD and WOW, the extended soloing is fucking incredible.......
I've just recently really gotten into Floyd, and I have become a huge David Gilmour fan. I love the tone he produces, and his solos and vocals are outstanding. His self titled solo album is fantastic too. I like his vocals much better than Roger Waters.
Still playing as much as I possibly can. I have become completely obsessed with playing and learning guitar. When I'm not playing, it's pretty much all I think about. I bought a Strat not too long ago and it was the best guitar purchase I've ever made. I never liked Strats until I played...
Fantastic album.....I've just recently started really appreciating Pink Floyd. Their music is fucking' amazing. David Gilmour has quickly become my favorite guitar player.......
Off Topic: I just recently learned the outro solo from "Comfortably Numb" on the guitar....What an amazing...
I've been on a long Pink Floyd binge lately. I slept on them for a long time and now I fuckin' dig their shit. God damn, David Gilmour is the shit on Guitar (and Vocals)........
I hate And Justice.....because the fuckin' mix is HORRIBLE. The guitars and drums are too fucking loud and there is pretty much no bass guitar to speak of.
I'm about half-way through the album and Kirk's solos are fucking weird on a few of the tracks. I think he got too deep into weird scales and complex solos that sounded weird.....
EDIT: He's become even tighter with the fucking Wah peddle. Listen to the wah solo towards the end of Judas...
From that Rip of the album: I've only listened to the first song and I'm wishing they would have mixed the song differently. Lars was doing some good shit and the drums seemed mixed low as did Kirk Hammett's guitar........
