Except they didn't literally have more weapons in the country than people put together
Never said they did, and was even going to include that in my statement that 2016 America is a lot different. But Australia didn't wait around to take care of it. They had a really bad 10 year run and said enough and did something about it. We're not doing anything about but arguing in America.

I agree with Obama how he said there can't be a rational discussion until the NRA and people stop overreacting everytime there's a discussion about guns. It took awhile for me to get it but its totally true and I'm even guilty of thinking the same way. "We need better gun control to stop this shit" "RABBLERABBLE OVERMY DEAD BODY YOU TYRANICAL SHITLORDS RABBLERABBLE MUHFREEDOMS" lol its like there can't even be a discussion at all.

I'm thinking the only way is this "well-regulated" work around. Then no one can say they're stomping on the 2nd amendment, they're just using common sense and interpreting it with common sense as it applies to the current state of affairs.

What was the new law in California that got people all butthurt? You had to prove you have a reasonable and credible threat to your person as in you've been threatened in the past or are in a dangerous line of work like you carry large amounts of cash to be eligible for a conceal carry? Why is that such a bad idea. The average person absolutely has no reason to be carrying around a loaded firearm in public "for their safety"

LMAO you're reaching pretty hard right now.
How? A cannon would knock down half your house from far away. A musket can miss someone 10ft away, that isn't superior firepower to you?

Your argument is that the government strength is so much now that everyone should concede and hand over their weapons because rifles cant defend against tanks, drones, jets etc? Lmao

So you think if the government ever turned on the people, enacted marshall law or any kind of major drama popped off they wouldnt put boots on the ground? They'd just carpet bomb everyone and roll through with tanks?

Well first of all something like 90%+ of Americans couldn't three single days without electricity or running water. They have no survival plan at all in place. Second the vast majority of people live near large urban areas and populations are condensed. It'd be insanely easy to cordone off major highways and freeways. There is pretty much zero possibility of the people rising up and fighting Red Dawn style

Australia actually instituted regulations on guns in the mid 90's after multiple mass shootings and a couple decades of crazy gun violence......and it worked lol
How large was the population at the time? How many type 1 crimes were being committed around the time it happened? Do they have anything in their constitution pertaining to the public's right to bare arms?

I don't think it's as simple as that. I think people are getting pretty sick and tired and things will change and it's not going to be as dramatic as people rising up against the government and needing guns to do it. It's happened before and it can happen again. People in the Army are just that, people. You think the average soldier is going to drive a tank through someones living room or drop an airstrike on civilian targets because they were told to? Not likely. I don't think that would ever happen, and I pretty much agree with the idea that we need guns in case the government tries to take us out is pretty much outdated and illogical

And dont make me bring up switzerland where the majority of the population is military trained and above a quarter of the population owns sig 550s yet has one of the lowest murder rates in the world.

But the guns are the problem! Lmao
Switzeland gets it!

I've seen this argument used albeit slightly altered, by white supremacists

Well that's where the whole jade helm comes into play as well as other controversies where they were training with nato soldiers from other countries. Other soldiers could possibly do it or they could be desensitizing their own troops. Everyone in the military is on a need to know basis, theyre told what to do and that's that, you get out of line or disobey orders you get punished.

Now lemme clarify Im not saying this will happen, I don't fully believe in these kinds of conspiracies either but I don't completely dismiss them either. I think doing that is just as irresponsible as blindly believing them.

The fact I'm taking the time to respond to some of this silliness shows how bored I am right now.

How? A cannon would knock down half your house from far away. A musket can miss someone 10ft away, that isn't superior firepower to you?
A cannon in the 1700's wasn't some precise killing machine that could pump out round after round after round. Local militias more than likely had access to cannons also lol. You're trying way too hard right now lol

Your argument is that the government strength is so much now that everyone should concede and hand over their weapons because rifles cant defend against tanks, drones, jets etc? Lmao
Where is that my argument? When did I say anybody should give up their guns? Please quote it. Pretty sure my argument throughout this entire thread was people shouldn't be able to buy assault rifles in 15 minutes.

So you think if the government ever turned on the people, enacted marshall law or any kind of major drama popped off they wouldnt put boots on the ground? They'd just carpet bomb everyone and roll through with tanks?
lol @ boots on ground. America is a country of 320 million with over 350 million guns on the streets. If the Government wanted to all of a sudden enact martial law, you're damn right they would flex nuts and start shooting off some drone strikes. How much of the 1 million troops in the Army would actually stay and fight against their friends and family? The Government would be outnumbered heavily. They would definitely show superior weaponry to get the country to bow down. I mean in the magic scenario where the Government all of a sudden turns in to evil super villains, you think casualty numbers would be cared about?

And dont make me bring up switzerland where the majority of the population is military trained and above a quarter of the population owns sig 550s yet has one of the lowest murder rates in the world.

Switzerland is a country of 8 million, if your quarter of the population number is true, that's 2 million guns on ground. America has 320 million people with over 350 million guns on ground. Totally the same thing.

You're trying way too hard man, especially for somebody that doesn't even live in the country lol
