i made it 2 and a half minutes in before i realized i was completely confused.

tldr; KC is behind Tech because his first single but he was weird so KC doesn't associate itself with Tech because Tech is an elite MC so you have to mention Tech if you're from KC because he keeps changing his image and KC doesn't appreciate that so they can't get behind someone like Tech so they just get behind Tech.

Kutt's right. It doesn't make a lot of sense, but that's exactly how it is. The streets been that way with Tech since Anghellic dropped. Tech just doesn't fit in the box with the rest of KC's underground acts like a Rich the Factor or even Ron Ron. Like Kutt said, the respect is there, you have to respect what Tech and Strange have accomplished, but I feel like a lot of hood cats just can't relate to Tech's music at this point.

Looking forward to hearing this Kuttin' Loose EP. Excited to see Rob Rebeck doing the engineering again. Rob was one of the reasons I enjoyed the earlier Strange projects so much. The crispness and clarity he brought out of the music has yet to be matched by Strange since they stopped working together.

KC does have Tech's back, I see the Strange Music logo plastered on the back of a car at least once a week in the suburbs. Kutt is just referring to how it is in the hood.

Same here in Wichita. I see the logo all the time around the city.

Truer words have not been spoken my friend.

didnt have much interest in any future kutt work til you mentioned this.if Rebeck is engineering, than im gonna have to check it out cause there is a certain level of quality that this EP will reach.Rebeck leaving was the worst thing that has happened to strange, he was their secret weapon.i have never heard anyone come close to the sound quality that Rebeck is able to produce...the sound he gave all of strange's releases left them sounding leaps&bounds beyond any other hiphop (or music for that matter) being produced. Ben has surely gotten better ("welcome to strangelend" being a distict lowpoint) but man...Rebeck's absence is still felt by any audiophiles.

I read maybe half of this thread...

There was a time when there were ten thousand squares running ten thousand different record "labels/studios" in and around KC. There were a few cool guys in there too, for sure, but EVERYONE and their cousin (seriously) had a fucking mixtape in KC at one point. I bet there might be one or two left who are pumping gas or collecting carts somewhere, and STILL trying to pimp burned copies of their "new shit" out of a shady trunk.

And "Audiophiles"... LoL. What do you play your fuzzy warbles on?
