BERNARD HOPKINS EXPLAINS WHY AFTER 6 ROUNDS, MANNY PACQUIAO WILL BE TARGET PRACTICE FOR FLOYD MAYWEATHER

"Not only will I break the fight down for you, I will give you a prediction. Now, I could be wrong, but then again, I could be right. The first 5 or 6 rounds, it's going to be a back and fourth fight because of Pacquiao's aggression. But Pacquiao is not the best defensive fighter. Mayweather is going to sharp shoot, and not only is Mayweather going to fight back when he needs to, but after that 6th round, it's done," stated future Hall of Famer Bernard Hopkins, who gave his official prediction on the long-awaited May 2 showdown between undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather and 8-division world champion Manny Pacquiao. According to Hopkins, after the first 6 rounds of the fight, Mayweather will begin to dominate to the point that some fans will be upset.

"Hey, listen, there will be people that's so upset because they charging people money, they are going to be so upset because in the second half, it somehow turned into such easy work that they are going to feel like there was some type of corruption or foul play or pollution in the air. They are gonna make up all kinds of excuses (laughing). I believe the second half of these 12 rounds gonna be target practice for Floyd. And it's going to be a situation where, is he putting a show on just so people can get their monies worth or is it just that easy. That's my bold statement and I stick by it, now let's wait 8 to 9 weeks and see what happens," Hopkins explained during a recent conversation with FightHype.com. "The fans have spoken and they delivered. It's better late than never. Enjoy the super fight, our Super Bowl of fights this year, and this is the beginning, I hope, of big fights to come, whether it's Golden Boy or any other promotional outlet. At the end of the day, if everybody step their game up, you don't have to complain; just do! Thank you and continue to support boxing!"
I'm disappointed because he really didn't break down anything at all and usually Hopkins is insightful, this is just a prediction of it being close for the first half, and easy for Floyd second half. Hopefully Hopkins has a more insightful interview about the fight soon, I always like to hear what he has to say.

Thats what I was gonna say battle lol. His hero said his other hero was gonna be easy work lol. Classic. Got Em!!
He's been picking Mayweather for years. What I'm looking for is more of a fight breakdown (not just a prediction). Here is an example but there's a better one from before Pac got KOd that was really good that I'm searching for:

"It would be easy pickings for Floyd Mayweather," Hopkins told ESPN.com. "I picked Floyd Mayweather to win before the knockout. Now if they fought — which I don't see happening — Floyd Mayweather would make it even easier than I predicted the first time.

The 48-year-old Hopkins is slated to fight Tavoris Cloud on March 9 in Brooklyn.

"That type of knockout … that was 10 fights for Pacquiao," Hopkins said of the Marquez fight. "The way he got knocked out, it's hard to recover, spiritually, emotionally and physically — mentally it's definitely a challenge."

It wouldn't have been a fight where Mayweather would have had his way. Pacquiao could get hit - he didn't have the best defence. He didn't overwhelm guys when he was knocking them out. He out-punched them, he outworked them, and he really beat these guys down.

"Mayweather keeps his chin tucked - [he has] what I consider one of the best defences in the world. You rarely see Floyd Mayweather or Bernard Hopkins get hit with a flush three, four, five-punch combinations - and that's one of the reasons I'm still here.

"Pacquiao jumped [at Marquez] trying to throw a left hand and paid the ultimate price. You never throw a punch and leave your feet. He's not Superman."

Meh...Hopkins break down was mediocre...see the previous breakdown by "the bay area" with more scientific diagrams coming up to help you get a clear understanding of a Mayweather landslide...Hopkins...HAHA.

Fans & experts complete opposite in polls:

Boxingscene
49.37% Pacquiao
48.74% Mayweather
1.89% Draw

ESPN
52% Pacquiao
44% Mayweather
4% Draw

Badlefthook
69% Pacquiao
31% Mayweather

LA Times
Pacquiao 74.17%
25.83%

77% of Experts polled picked Mayweather source
Whoever picked Pacquiao is fuckin stupid. If they had to put their money down...I bet those numbers would look more realistic. The poll should be who do you LIKE BETTER, Pacquiao or Mayweather.

But that's why this fight is so big. When someone as huge as Floyd is, they want to see him fight the best. Let's be real here, not since Cotto have we've seen him fight someone with high boxing skills. These last two fights weren't that impressive vs Maidana. Manny fought a prime Bradley at least who schooled the vet in Marquez. Fans only remember recent fights while experts go by history, records, and just want to play it safe so they can be viewed as experts.

^^No he's not.

Hey CZAR @CZAR curious on your thoughts about Manny getting a min of $80 million. Remember you and others were calling Pac an idiot for not accepting a flat fee of $40 million?! He's getting a minimum of double that now.

Allow me...back in 2009 Manny Pacquiao was getting a 50% SPLIT and ALL HIS DEMANDS MET...on a fight that was considered PRIME for the taking...Manny Pacquiao ducked the RBT and is now currently receiving 40% and is considered the B-side... so after 6 years of stalling on the side of Arum and Pacquiao they lost 10% and leverage...if Pacquiao would have NOT RE-SIGNED with Arum Pacquaio would have possibly been on his second fight with Floyd and gotten the 40% we are seeing now (plus his original 50% from the '09 fight). This fight in 2015 might have been their 3rd meeting (Marquez KO might not have ever existed) Arum is a tool...and Pacquiao is a fool.

reading comprehension problems? I obviously wasn't talking about 2009, I was talking about the $40 million flat fee that Floyd so kindly offered that CZAR, you and others were saying was a fair deal and Pac should have taken it.

There are no A sides and B sides when it comes to a fight of this magnitude, this isn't Floyd vs Ortiz or Pac vs Algieri. They are both the draw.

The only way there would have been a second or third fight is if Floyd never signed to Showtime. $80 mill for a fight is crazy, so $120 is nuts. Arum still got Manny $25 mill per fight prior. Once you reach a certain amount of wealth, the talks about who is richer is a talk amongst the rich not us. So now the question 2-0-Sixx @2-0-Sixx is asking is how do you Manny haters feel about him getting $80 mill over $40 mill for a fight vs Floyd? Lets talk about the now

The $40 million offer is in the past bro. Presently Manny got $80 million and made out good...he didn't get 50% which he could have had. But I'll leave you and 2-0-6 with your narrow window of a conversation trying to prove a point.
