FLOYD MAYWEATHER CONFRONTS MANNY PACQUIAO AND MICHAEL KONCZ FACE-TO-FACE; TELLS THEM "STOP LYING"
By Ben Thompson | January 27, 2015
FLOYD MAYWEATHER CONFRONTS MANNY PACQUIAO AND MICHAEL KONCZ FACE-TO-FACE; TELLS THEM

Earlier tonight, undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather and 8-division world champion Manny Pacquiao met face-to-face for the first time ever during halftime of the Miami Heat vs. Milwaukee Bucks NBA game. According to sources with knowledge of the situation, upon receiving confirmation that Pacquiao was scheduled to be in attendance at the game, Mayweather made it a point to also attend.

Both fighters were seated courtside, across from each other on opposite sides of the court. During halftime, it was Mayweather who first made his way over to Pacquiao, who along with his adviser, Michael Koncz, met the pound-for-pound king at midcourt. Mayweather then began speaking to Pacquiao and Koncz. Although all of the specific details of the conversation are not known, FightHype.com has been informed by two reliable sources in attendance that Mayweather wasted no time in setting the record straight with Pacquiao.

According to one source, Mayweather told both Pacquiao and Koncz to "stop lying" about signing any contracts. The same eyewitness tells us that Mayweather then informed Pacquiao that he's been told multiple lies. Mayweather explained that "he's been trying to make the fight happen" and chose to stay silent throughout the negotiation process because "I don't entertain bullshit!"

Another source tells us that Pacquiao was "on hush mode", speechless as Mayweather repeated, "stop lying," and asked him "what contract" he signed. As Mayweather reiterated to both men that lies are being told, Koncz began stuttering before attempting to lay all the blame on promoter Bob Arum, telling Mayweather that he's only saying what Arum has been telling him. Mayweather then informed both men that it's not professional to lie and "if you're not going to tell the truth, it's best to stay silent."

After their discussion, Mayweather gave Pacquiao his personal phone number, presumably so he can call him directly if there's any further confusion between the lies and the truth. At this point, it's unclear if their conversation will have any impact on finalizing negotiations for their potential May 2 showdown. It's clear, however, that Pacquiao will likely have a lot to discuss with his adviser and his promoter regarding the conversation that took place.

but this is irrelevant tho cuz didnt they meet up later on that night? See, its bullshit stories like this that dies down the hype of makin this fight happen. So what, what he has to say, in the vid you can clearly see pac telling him something and wasnt all "hush" like the story implies. I guess may wanted to get under pacs skin and start biccering in the middle of the court i guess.

That story was debunked super fast that's why one should never read or post Ben Thompson articles. In fact I'm going to make that a rule. No more Ben Thompson article in this thread.

No, I believe there may be some truth to that article.

Koncz himself said the following:

"We were shocked when we saw Floyd come in there. That wasn't a staged thing. Then I approached Floyd and chatted with him a little bit, and asked 'hey, let's go to the Manny side and take a picture.' I said we didn't have to discuss anything, that it would be great for the media. So he chatted to me about being misinformed and this and that, and said he would come over at halftime. Then he came over, repeated what he repeated to me, and then that was it."

So he did say something to them about being "misinformed" and what was the "this and that" he is referring to? And then he came over and repeated it again?

Floyd told them to stop lying. Then gave his number so they could handle it.

But what is there to lie about? People are saying there is no contract but non of us nor the media know exactly what's going on behind closed doors. Obviously something was done on Manny's side as it should be if Floyd is the A side. Plus, I think that quote is more in regards to the networks having to work things out, not involving Floyd.

What is there to lie about? Having a contract and signing it. Floyd went on record a week ago stating that they are lying so this recent shit ain't got shit to do with networks but spin it and fix it how you want, battle.

Neither Pacquiao or Arum ever said Pac signed a contract. Arum said Pacquiao agreed to everything in principle. The fanboys and or haters are the people who ran with "sign the contract, Floyd!" nonsense.

Name one writer I said sucked other than Ben Thompson? I've consistently said over the years Ben Thompson is a joke. He writes opinion pieces mainly and doesn't hide how biased he is. Being biased I can tolerate, most journalists today are in one way or another sadly, what I can't tolerate though is shitty "journalism" that is consistently inaccurate or flat out lies just to get clicks. The only time Ben Thompson is worth anything is if he has a direct quote straight from the source. Citing an unnamed source, who could be his imaginary friend for all I know, is worth nothing. Ben Thompson is literally considered a joke in the boxing world, hell Eli is even better since he provides a steady flow of video's. Your blog is even better than what Ben Thompson does.

And there is a biased Pacquiao "writer" who is the equivalent of Ben Thompson but Filipino. That would be ronnie nathanielz. Anytime I see anything from that shill I automatically dismiss it as soon as I see his name. You can always spot a Ronnie article because he always opens with something ridiculous like "Fighter of the Decade Pound 4 Pound King Congressman Manny Pacquiao...". That's what these guys are, they are shills. Fighthype aka Floydhype is the only place Mayweather and his team release info to because they are shills, they are on the payroll. Same goes for Ronnie and the "Pacland" website or whatever the fuck it's called. You simply can't trust sources like that.

PACQUIAO'S ADVISER, MICHAEL KONCZ, CONFIRMS PRIVATE "DISCUSSION" WITH MAYWEATHER AFTER BASKETBALL GAME
By Ben Thompson | January 28, 2015
PACQUIAO'S ADVISER, MICHAEL KONCZ, CONFIRMS PRIVATE

"Yeah. It's true. It's true. And I think it was a very productive discussion. I like to call it a discussion, one-on-one with me, Floyd, and Manny, than a meeting," stated Michael Koncz, adviser to 8-division world champion Manny Pacquiao, who confirmed reports of a second meeting with undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather following their brief encounter with him at last night's Miami Heat vs. Milwaukee Bucks NBA game. According to reports in the Phillipines, after the game, Mayweather, Pacquiao and Koncz all got together to hammer issues related to a May 2 mega-fight between both fighters. Although Koncz said some of the details of the reports are incorrect, he did admit that the meeting took place and both sides left feeling confident that a deal could be reached.

"We had a brief discussion and then Floyd decided to come over. So Manny and I both told Floyd after the fact that we give him a lot of credit and respect for doing that under the circumstances. Again, I've always said, when Floyd's by himself, he's very professional, very polite, very cordial, and he's pleasant to talk to. Sometimes when he's got his entourage, it's a different story, but every time I've met him one on one, including last night, it's a pleasant experience," Koncz explained during a recent conversation with FightHype.com. "He's knows what he's talking about. You know, we have nothing bad to say about Floyd. The guys want the fight to happen, so I think it's going to happen. We discussed a couple of issues, more so pertaining to the broadcasting of the fight, and I got on the phone this morning and I think all of Floyd's concerns have been worked out regarding the broadcasting between Showtime and HBO."

PACQUIAO'S ADVISER DISCUSSES PRIVATE MEETING WITH FLOYD MAYWEATHER: "I TRULY BELIEVE HE'S SINCERE AND WANTS TO MAKE THE FIGHT"
By Ben Thompson | January 28, 2015
PACQUIAO'S ADVISER DISCUSSES PRIVATE MEETING WITH FLOYD MAYWEATHER:

"Floyd met with us and how can I say he's not sincere. I believe he's sincere. I don't have anything to contradict the fact that he's not sincere...we looked eye to eye, we talked and I truly believe he's sincere and wants to make the fight happen...It's evident by his actions last night and I have no reason to doubt that. That's my opinion at this point in time, that he is sincere and that he wants the fight to happen. There were some concerns about the broadcasting. I promised Floyd that I would get on the phone this morning and work those out and put our foot down on certain issues," stated Michael Koncz, adviser of 8-division world champion Manny Pacquiao, who talked about their encounter wit undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather at the basketball game, as well as their private meeting with him afterward. Check out what else he had to say!

BT: Michael, it's Ben.

MK: Hey Ben, how you doing?

BT: I'm doing good. How about yourself?

MK: I saw your story (laughing). Your source is not very good.

BT: Really? So you're disputing the fact that Floyd Mayweather said something to the effect of "stop lying" and "lies are being told"?

MK: No, I'm not disputing that. I'm disputing the comment that I was stuttering and said I'm only repeating what Arum told us to repeat. I never said that.

BT: Well the stuttering part was just my sources interpretation of how you reacted to a comment. But you're saying that you never told Floyd, "Bob Arum told us these things"?

MK: No. But anyway, Manny told me don't worry about it. I'm not responding to that story.

BT: Okay. Well I wasn't calling you about that story anyway. I was actually calling because it sounds like you didn't get much sleep last night.

MK: (Laughing) You're very good with your questioning. Look Ben, here's the thing. We're trying to build a trust relationship with Floyd, so I don't really want to make any comments at this time because if we run to the media and start spouting off, that doesn't help our relationship with Floyd.

BT: I definitely agree with that statement, although for the past 3 or 4 weeks, you guys actually have been spouting off to the media. But I guess that's neither here nor there. So what can you comment on?

MK: Well, first of all, I give Floyd a lot of respect for coming cross court. Now, it transpired a little differently than what you wrote in your other report because I talked to Manny, then I went over to Floyd prior to halftime...

BT: (Cutting in) I wrote that.

MK: Oh, it was in there?

BT: Yeah.

MK: Oh, okay. We had a brief discussion and then Floyd decided to come over. So Manny and I both told Floyd after the fact that we give him a lot of credit and respect for doing that under the circumstances. Again, I've always said, when Floyd's by himself, he's very professional, very polite, very cordial, and he's pleasant to talk to. Sometimes when he's got his entourage, it's a different story, but every time I've met him one on one, including last night, it's a pleasant experience. He's knows what he's talking about. You know, we have nothing bad to say about Floyd. The guys want the fight to happen, so I think it's going to happen. We discussed a couple of issues, more so pertaining to the broadcasting of the fight, and I got on the phone this morning and I think all of Floyd's concerns have been worked out regarding the broadcasting between Showtime and HBO.

BT: I hear what you're saying now, but over the past several weeks, I've seen other interviews from you where you were very critical of Floyd, saying you didn't think he wanted the fight and he's afraid to lose his 0. Are you now saying on record that you do think he wants the fight?

MK: Well, I don't think I was critical. I was trying to be as honest and polite as I could, just relaying my opinion on it. But now, Floyd met with us and how can I say he's not sincere. I believe he's sincere. I don't have anything to contradict the fact that he's not sincere. Now if he didn't meet us in person and was just talking on the internet and stuff, then maybe I could have doubts, but he was here, we looked eye to eye, we talked and I truly believe he's sincere and wants to make the fight happen.

BT: Can you clear up some of the confusion regarding statements that were made suggesting that some type of contract was signed?

MK: For right now, Ben, with all due respect, I would like to reserve that for a day or two. Give me a day or two to talk to Manny. I told Floyd I would address that issue, but I prefer to wait for a day or two. I think for right now, the fact that we truly believe Floyd is sincere in wanting to make this fight happen. It's evident by his actions last night and I have no reason to doubt that. That's my opinion at this point in time, that he is sincere and that he wants the fight to happen. There were some concerns about the broadcasting. I promised Floyd that I would get on the phone this morning and work those out and put our foot down on certain issues. I've been told that those are resolved. I'm going to confirm that here in a few more minutes. We will address that other issue, but I think that's good for another interview a couple days down the road.

BT: As far as the broadcast issues are concerned, is it fair to say that there were still some items that needed to be worked out between the two networks?

MK: Yes. There were some hurdles that Floyd brought to our attention and I told Floyd, "Floyd, if that's the only issues, with broadcasting, there's no problem there. We can get those worked out in the morning." Because to me, they were minor issues, even though they seemed to be bigger hurdles to Floyd than we felt they were, and I did what I told him I was going to do. They're resolved.

BT: Well, now that you met with Floyd and you're now confident that he wants to make the fight happen, do you foresee anything that could potentially prevent the fight from happening?

MK: At this point in time, I feel very comfortable. Again, we have the utmost respect for Floyd. We give him all the credit in the world. It doesn't matter who approached who at the basketball game, but the events that transpired last night goes a lot towards his credibility and his demeanor as a good person.

BT: Well, it might not matter to you who approached who, but it certainly will to the fans, especially considering that for weeks on end, certain people on your side have been trying to paint the picture that Floyd's afraid to fight (laughing).

MK: To me, there's no issues here. There's no issues here, Ben. You know, let's just get it on the paper and get it done.

BT: You've kind of already alluded to my last question based on your previous answers, but there's been reports in the Filipino press quoting one of Manny's friends, or maybe it was one of Jinkee's friends, saying that Floyd and Manny...

MK: (Cutting in) Yeah, I saw that because I got a bunch of calls on that this morning, and I'm a little upset about that because that person wasn't even here. I'll bring that to Manny's attention when he gets up.

BT: Really? So he wasn't even in the building?

MK: No! We left him at the basketball game. He wasn't even here. Then in that article, it quotes him as saying he overheard this, he overheard that. You know, usually I don't criticize people because Manny's got me reading the Bible too, but when somebody flatly lies like that, that doesn't sit right with me either. So I'm going to bring that to Manny's attention this morning.

BT: Wow! But we can definitely say that a meeting between Floyd and Manny took place after the game?

MK: Yeah. It's true. It's true. And I think it was a very productive discussion. I like to call it a discussion, one-on-one with me, Floyd, and Manny, than a meeting.

BT: And that's basically when the issues about the broadcast were brought up? Most of that conversation took place during the meeting after the game, not at the arena, right?

MK: Oh yeah. No, no. That was done here at the apartment. And I said, I told Floyd, and Manny said the same thing to confirm what I said, that if...because to Floyd, it's important because he's with Showtime. He's getting a lot of money from them, so it's important that he can get these issues resolved where Showtime is happy with it. I told him that that was a simple thing and I'll get that done in the morning. And I have been working on it this morning and it seems to be done. I'm just waiting for confirmation.

RSR Exclusive: Randall Bailey Challenges Victor Ortiz for PBC on NBC
January 28th, 2015 Bad Brad

Bailey Header (Copy)By Keith Terceira

Randall Bailey is tired of sitting by the phone waiting for someone with the fortitude to offer a fight, and he keeps waiting, while offer after offer goes to fighters less dangerous.

Last year he even asked if Al Haymon was looking for more people to sign, to little avail, but sources tell RSR that PBC on NBC is hunting an opponent for Former WBC World Welterweight Champion Victor Ortiz, 30-5-2, 23KO’s. They are not looking for that difficult an opponent but that doesn’t concern Randall Bailey, the former IBF Champion at 147 thinks he would be a perfect match for the less than vicious Ortiz perhaps putting him line for Keith Thurman, who is in the main event for the March 7th show.

Thurman, 24-0, 21KO’s is the WBA Welterweight Champion; well he is the second place champion to the WBA’s Super Champion Floyd Mayweather, JR.

Si Stern, manager for Randall Bailey tells RSR.

“That’s a fight we would be very interested in; we issue the challenge, but know it won’t come about because everyone is afraid of Randall. They come up with the same stuff Randall is too tough.
Why the hell should they fight Randall Bailey? Haymon knows Randall, because Haymon guaranteed Randall he would fight Mayweather, JR. but that never happened! We would take that fight in a minute but they are afraid Randall would knock Ortiz out, so why would they risk it.”

Al Haymon's TV deals could prove beneficial for Peter Quillin

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — January brought several broadcastdeals for boxing mogul Al Haymon and it appears Grand Rapids native Peter Quillin could play a large role in his latest partnership.

Haymon and NBC announced a partnership Jan. 14 to air 20 live boxing cards featuring top fighters then added Spike TV into the mix a week ago with a promise to televise at least 33 Friday night cards over the next three years.

Quillin (31-0, 22 KOs) vacated his WBO middleweight belt last September in a move that left much of the boxing world dumbfounded. But with time comes clarity.

Although no opponent has been announced for Quillin yet, some media sources are reporting a matchup with middleweight belt holder Andy Lee is in the making.

Quillin, in Grand Rapids this week to visit a sick relative, wouldn’t mention any names but said when a contract is signed an announcement would be made.

“I hopefully will get in there three times this year,” Quillin said. “I was hoping for four but we’ve been handling some business and want to go out there and perform at our best.”

Much of Quillin’s pro career has been spent on the undercards of bigger fights. Appearing on network television could help him become more of a household name.

“I feel good about it,” Quillin said. “To be part of history and have such support from Al to be able to go out there and put my foot out there in boxing and create my own legacy that only Al can pull off. I just want to make him look good and rise together.”

Quillin said he was able to train a bit while in Grand Rapids and felt good with his conditioning.

“I feel good, it’s my lifestyle. I could go out every night and buy bottles at clubs or head to the gym and get bottles of water.

“I stay motivated to be in the gym. This is my sanctuary, this is where no evil can tackle me. I love it when I get to do it.

“I’m thankful to be where I’m at in my life, that’s my job.”

The first show on NBC in the series will take place on March 7 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and will feature Keith Thurman vs. Robert Guerrero with a co-feature of Adrien Broner vs. John Molina.

The first event on Spike TV will be on March 13 at the StubHub Center in California and will be headlined by Andre Berto vs. Josesito Lopez as well as Shawn Porter vs. Roberto Garcia.

Also, it's not in that interview and could have been one I read on ESPN, but the issue Floyd had was about 24/7 and All Access, commentators and doing a big ass tour. Manny does NOT want to do a tour to promote the fight and I don't think a tour is nescessary either. The 24/7 and All Access stuff was settled by each network doing their own thing for their own fighter. Koncz was the one who stated what I just said.

Ben Thompson and Chris Williams are the same person as far as I'm concerned.

What I'm saying is the story is BS, about Koncz stuttering and Pac "on silent mode", clearly implying they were both terrified lol. Seriously who writes shit like that? That's why I can't stomach Williams/Thompson.

That's actually a really good idea.
